  1. Dylan’s injury history is starting to worry me a little… Sochan vibes.

    Injured at Rutgers ☑️
Injured coming into Vegas SL ☑️
    Injured coming into preseason ☑️

He is soooo good, that’s why it’s disheartening. I wonder if it’s a product of too much basketball growing up; this seems to be one of the newer sentiments emerging among sport scientist commentators: that teens are perhaps overusing themselves by focusing on one sport too much & Dylan certainly fits in that category. He does play a physical style, so maybe it’s just wear and tear. Sigh. Funnily enough, Cooper Flagg is surprisingly durable. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious, but also, this is why the whole “trade Fox” crowd is absurd—you don’t just need depth in this league, you need time to see how a guy’s career is going to turn out. In 3 years, they’ll have a much better read on him, make their roster decisions.

Castle 🏰 though… he’s a warrior. And durable. He’s a guy you keep. Spurs fandom complaining about his playmaking yet he and Keldon were the only ones fighting in this game. He’s going to get better when he’s not the primary either and his cutting will be lethal.

    BTW, the refs were sh*t.

  2. We desperately need Luke Kornet to come back and take some of the Load off of Wemby. I could see that Wemby has been absolutely gassed since Kornet has been out. We don’t wanna risk injuring our Golden Goose by putting too much strain on him.

  3. I do feel the spurs need to give David Jones Garcia a shot, maybe the Harper injury will mean Garcia can get some minutes. I get it, Jordan McLaughlin is a vet and plays good defense, but Garcia is a baller and makes plays every time he’s on the court .

  4. Mitch Johnson is killing me with these Jordan McLaughlin minutes, just put David Jones Garcia already, now you have no excuse

  5. I told my friend I’m concerned about his injury. It was reminiscent of Halliburton’s injury that they claimed was a calf strain. And when he came back he tore his Achilles. From what I’ve seen, Achilles strains can often be misdiagnosed as a calf strain. And playing on a not-fully-healed Achilles strain is extremely risky (clearly).

  6. DHarp got banged up, hit in the face that could have been a flagrant, for a rookie he did great. Only him, Castle and KJ came out last night as the Suns triple/quadruple teamed, clatched on and bullied Wemby. Those three were unfazed. DHarp get well soon!

  7. Wemby's production is about to drop because teams realize just double him and let Castle and Harper take the 3. Fortunately they have the ability to drive to the bucket but their lack of shooting hurts Wemby's post presence.

  8. Oh nah you’re not overthinking, spurs are definitely holding him til the national televised game. Even fox said himself he feels ready to play but spurs didnt think so.

  9. PERIMETER D: yeah, bringing it up again (this time with proof, unfortunately) — Spurs gotta rethink their strategy for defending 3s off the high screen. I get that it prevents easier corner threes and funnels ball-handlers to Wemby, but any team who can hit those will be Spurs KRYPTONITE. And even worse, poor Dylan. 😥 Hope Fox is back soon. 🤞🍀

  10. Spurs still need a 6'10" – 6'11" 250-lb+ power forward to rebound, block out, set picks, and yes, score! Sochan, Barnes, and Bryant are all small forward bodies. I get that the GSW's showed that they can be a dynasty with Draymond Green as their PF, but that does not mean it is the best way to go for all modern teams. The league is constantly changing. Giannis, A.D., Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markannen, Karl Anthony Townes … these are the types of players and bodies that the Spurs need to start at PF. I hate to be the guy that's always saying we need one more piece because we already have one helluva deep and talented team, but I really think that is a missing piece. Wemby got pushed around and bullied against Phoenix last night and there was no other big body to help him out. We probably still would have lost that game because the Spurs had a bad night overall, but we still need a true PF.

  11. Harper’s injury was unfortunate. He was playing so well and I wanted to watch him improve even more as the season goes on. His composure and ability to get to the paint is so good

  12. Update: Looks like Dylan Harper suppose to be out until at least November 18th. Thank God the injury was not season ending that was my fear .

  13. Fortunately he’ll only miss a few weeks!! He’s been such a spark plug off the bench, #2 looking like a mix of Manu/Harden/Cade

  14. In NBA History 77 of 82 teams that started 5-0 made the playoffs, 93.9% success rate. Harper had an MRI in LA which came back negative for anything serious, just a straight up calf strain, no timetable given for his return yet.

  15. But it doesn't change much. Not particularly a big deal. TSR. They don't need him to get to the playoffs.

  16. They should play David Jones Garcia more to see if he can mesh and if that is not in the plans, trade him if someone can use him.
