Itās early but we can all see that their defensive philosophy is not working for the players they haveā¦only works for some but not all the players possess those defensive qualities. Would you think Darko will be willing to make changes on defense?

Defense is horrendous. No help and rim protection presence at all. IQ is playing so out of control gambling for no reason on defense and taking pickup game type of shots on offense. Coaches gotta let him know that make him play as an off ball guard more thatās something heās better at
Unpopular opinion but I think their defence will eventually click. Iām more worried about their centre depth. I saw someone above mention Wemby. He is not wrong we should have 3 solid 7ft rim protectors.
Nothing against Jak just always have some doubts about his fit to the rest of the roster. You would need a mobile big who can stretch the floor in this rosterās philosophy. Maybe it wouldāve been a better idea to try and see how itās played out first before extending him to a four year contract.

IQ never uses the screen and Scottie always slips or doesnāt make contact in the screen
Friendly reminder that in preseason vlogs most players (and you) said that IQ looks like "he's in best shape of them all". If this is his best shape then i really don't want to see his "regular shape/form". Dude is straight bad contract (most of NBA thought so seconds after he got new deal). I wish Raps good luck with trying to move him. I see that more fans start to take off "championship glasses" and see that Masai made at least few big mistakes.
One more thought after watching 3/4 of video. It's ironic but IQ lacks iq to run PG spot.

Iq is the handcuff to the whole offense. The minute shead comes in we go on runs. When iq comes back we go on droughts. He refuses to pass to bi when he's hot. He'll there was a stretch where bi and scottie were going back n forth. Finally building us momentum. Cut it to single digits. Iq comes in , ignores them both and within 5 seconds of being in the game fires up a 3 with 20 seconds left on shot clock , than let his man get behind him for a cherry pick layup. Momentum killed. When I watch him I see a very me first player who thinks he's as good as bi barnes or rj and he isn't fuckin remotely close
Defensively , darkos scheme is workinf against itself. At the very lowest levels your taught how to beat full court pressure. Advance it up the floor and get to rim or hit open 3s. The reason why we arent able to defend that is because we have ZERO SHOT BLOCKING. Fans bring up how indiana , and okc used this scheme a ton in last years playoffs and ya it worked . It worked because they have elite shot blocking to deterr those from driving to the rim after they beat the full court pressure
Point blank iq just isnt what some thought. Hes not. Theres not ONE thing that he does great consistently. Not scoring. Not shooting. Not on defense. Literally nothing. He pulls a couple passes out his ass but hes a hero ball merchant. You can tell by watching him lol

Just came to say that IQ is genuinely horrible. There are other comments that have already explained why, selfish play, not finding the hot hand, momentum killer, bad shot taking and making, poor defender that gets blown by constantly putting our already mediocre/bad defense into rotation, picks up his dribble too early, just a really really bad playmaker, literally has negative vision.
I get why they paid him, the potential of him being a solid shooter and continuing to grow alongside Scottie was tempting. But he's straight ass, nothing but a glorified bench player with too much responsibility he can't handle.
They gotta move him asap. Legitimately unwatchable at this point. Had a great day, watched 15 minutes of IQ play in the 2nd half, put me in an awful mood, and went straight to bed. I can't watch this team anymore, it's bad for my mental
BI and Scottie B combined for almost half the points the Raptors earned in that game, with no other player having put up at least 20 points. If that stat isnāt an indication of just how overreliant the Raptors were in that game on the 2 of them, IDK what is.
5 games in and the skies are already falling. We spent the whole off-season convincing ourselves that IQ will be better at the POA and this aggressive pressure defense would work and here we are. Damn. This is bleak lol

We just donāt have enough against Western Conference teams. We match up with Most of the East fine. The west teams just are more complete teams.

I will say it again. The Raps should have never let Davion Mitchell go. He was a guy that just fit their team. Raps need defensive dogs and that was DM was. The team actually looked formidable when he was given a large role. This team unfortunately sucks and is just a bunch of guys thrown together

Trade yak and IQ with whatever picks needed to the kings for sabonis. Kings are cooked and have made deals with us before. The salary would match.
We need a stretch big rebounder and shead would be the playmaker pg, they need a pg and yak would fill C for them for time being. Like I said give them whatever picks to get it done. Sabonis, Rj, BI, Scott and Shed would be a scary 5 IMO.
We need to do something and waiting on IQ is getting old and yak is a beast but not for this team.
Helps kings reset with picks and a functional team but get off Sabonis contract.

correct me if im wrong but wasn't Darko`s plan this year that regardless if you were a starter, if you're not playing good you will subbed out for someone that is playing better. I dont remember the exact words but I know this was stated in one of his interviews. I remember it being something like its literally the first man up, whoever is bringing that energy, if someone isn't playing well, the next player will be called up so busy will be fighting for minutes. But I haven't seen that yet at all
