The Dallas Mavericks lost another close game, this time 110-102 to the Houston Rockets. It was close down the stretch, but some ill-advised D’Angelo Russell shots plus some defensive miscues ultimately cost the Mavs late in the game. Cooper Flagg started hot and then barely touched the ball, but PJ Washington had easily his best game of the season. This game was full of ups and downs. The DLLS Mavs crew breaks it all down.

There will be a long line of “valiant efforts” this year.
The Mavs are a rudderless ship right now.
It’s horribly unbalanced and won’t be remotely close to balanced till Kyrie and AD show up. It’s their team and unfortunately PJ, Flagg and Christie are
3rd, 4th and 5th options on a playoff team. I don’t see where Klay and DLo play in a playoff rotation. I’m not certain
Gafford and Lively even play 40 minutes combined. It’s November.
January and February can’t get here quick enough.

Rockets shot poorly on open shots and still find a way to win. Every good team has to win some of those games. It never felt like Dallas had a chance to win.

The trade was bad enough when you trade a 25 yr old generational talent for all star level yet injury prone player like AD. But to not even get Reaves back in the trade was malpractice. You could have flipped him even if Nico didn't see him staying on the roster.
Luka is going to win 2/3 titles in LA and Nico will be remembered as the guy who lost Steph from Nike and traded away possibly the best foreign player ever in NBA history. Absolute disaster
