I don't understand how some teams can put anyone on the floor and they will still play good defense, but Raptors have roster problems? It's obviously coaching problem.
The team stinks and has no leadership nor direction. Gotta clean up the wasted Cap space spent on these guys. Start with Quickly ( he's awful).
Truth is – you can overcome the center struggles right now with strong attacking the basket play, and hitting 3's. The bench has to be better, slash, drive, get 'em on their heals moving backwards where they must foul – frustrate them with energy, running the floor, in your face defense allowing little to no leak out pts. You're not going to get all the rebounds, but get some, which is way better than getting barely none. Play big like CMB. Steals, blocks, deflections matter, make 'em happen.
Well Zach Edey would look nice as a raptors center. Unfortunate the first round pick in Zach’s was for poetl.
Ben, that last video where you got fired up was one of your best. It was passionate, accurate, and truthful.

Rewatched the Houston massacre. Found several key issues. Defensive repeat offenders were IQ, BI, Gradey, Shead(height).
IQ was the key mismatch that was abused. Off ball was in no man land guarding no one.
BI ,does not press, was the main culprit defensively in the 3rd qtr collapse. Players attacked the side BI occupied. He has no defensive help effort whatsoever.
Gradey did not help the point of attack. Often left Shead on an island to defend alone. Ochai called him out. Late close outs.
Shead did a solid job defensively sadly repeat offenders did not help by defending high.
FTs was the silent killer, too many fouls. Due to no Center.
No center to rebound so successful stops were wasted. THIS TEAM NEEDS CENTERS.
BI has it right…. while I see Darko deflecting blame on the players… "we don't coach that way"… Why isn't he taking ownership of this aggressive unsustainable defense that forgets about catching rebounds? I am not sure Darko is addressing anything here.
Why is nobody talking about Gradey Dick's horrible defence. He should not be getting playing time over elite defensive players Agbaji or even Walter who can shoot the 3 with more playing time. Furthermore, not having a back up centre (although we had 2 last year) is disappointing.
Quick gonna get Darko fired. Hope Darko saves himself and plays IQ off the bench
No sense in picking up a center who has no skill. we've been doing that for the last five years. 7' tall pylons just doesn't work.

Poetle is just not the right center.He is not the kind of center for today's basketball.
All these years in the NBA,he never developed his shooting even around the basket ,still can not shoot free throws, can't run fast.The other I watched Shak and Barkley saying that if a center can run fast,he will have advantage over centers like Rudy Gobert.Which is true. Poetle is slow.

I see Mobo on one play the play was headed towards the Raptors end after a miss and he was just leisurely jogging up the court and the team had a 5 on 4, I was like wtf
6:34 One can debate whether blame for the poor start the Raptors have had to this regular season should be placed on Darko just as a not-great start to the same regular season by the Leafs should be placed on Craig Berube, Darko‘s Leafs’ counterpart. In response, the lack of defensive awareness has been a common problem for each of those Toronto major-league sports teams, with it not very clear if either will in April see playoff action.

Iv been saying it from the first year darko came in, great development, but not as a head coach in NBA, and each year confirms what iv been thinking.
I honestly think if raps cant get it together this year, darko will be gone for next season, either fire him completely or keep him on development team.
We needed Udoka when he was available around the same time.

Slow down just 4 games with a young team yet they need center backup and quickly isnt worth the money he got but you can't just make a early season trade for trade sack unless its a deal you cant turn down like a backup center and better 1 guard

I got all excited by the title. I thought Darko would admit that the height issue was critical. Any improvement to the defensive system would be great but the biggest issue is the lack of true bigs. Rim guarding, rebounding bigs. 5:50 .
