Love Battle! About time he got some minutes. With most of the bench giving nothing, may be it's time to give Lawson and Chucky a try too. Finally LETS GET A BIG RIM GUARDING CENTER RIGHT NOW.
5 IQ is horrendous. I'm not expecting him to necessarily grab a ton of rebounds, but he literally does nothing on a regular basis. We have 3 guys under the rim against 2 of their players and he just stands there and watches the other team rebound and doesn't even attempt to box anyone out or make it look like he even cares. It's especially egregious and painful to watch because he routinely digs us into a hole while you could literally replace him with anyone off the bench and we'd be better. They need to give his minutes to Shead and Battle on a permanent basis.
lol, Battle's definitely not better than Jakobe on the defensive end, but I would say he's better than Gradey Dick.
IQ is really a pain in the team now…he's not showing what he's worth..

This team not getting far as is. There’s just too many lazy defenders and half of the guys that can defend can’t shoot so it’s like how do you even mix these guys. RJ is going to give you points but his defense is poor, Quickley’s defense has been the worst on the team and then you have Gradey Dick who isn’t a good defender either. People wonder why Darko plays this kind of over helping defense and it’s because 1 on 1 these guys are food ready to be eaten. Also the lack of any kind of rim protection when you already have poor defenders is a bad combination so now you’re asking too much of Jak to turn in Bismack is his prime. Bobby will have to make a move or 2 to fix this roster. Who you’re going to put on the floor ? mogbo, Agbaji and Shead ? These are the guys that’s going to defend for you but you can’t play those guys together because they’re not going give you enough offense. This roster is poorly constructed for the amount of money invested in this roster. Do we really need Dick and Walter ? Do we really need Mogbo and CMB ? Do we need both Martin and Shead ? I just don’t understand this roster construction.
I understand your love for Poetle. However he is one of the problem. He is just not the right center for this team. Quickly is also the problem now;maybe he will catch up.
As I said before, try AJ Lawson at PG, not Shead. Shead is a great guy, just like Quickley, but both have been really ineffective so far.

Shead is "ok", he is not what he was last year – the shine is gone.
IQ looks like a completely different player than what we saw in sample sizes last season.

Gradey is losing his spot to battle. He’s just a sniper and he’s always ready.
When you compare Jakobe / dick and battle they are all good. But all have weakness’s. I would say dick’s D is the worst out of the 3. But he does have the best offensive game overall. But from 3, damn battle is on another level right now.
winning against a beat up cavs team isn’t really something to write home about :/ there are still major issues with this roster… IQ simply has to be better throughout the whole game

I feel you put it fairly when describing IQs performance. Right now he's hurting the team far more than contributing without considering the "unearned" salary. Like Poeltl's recovery, IQ needs to get at the very least hit on his 3pts.

Don't apologize, Ben. Quickley is playing with high IQ basketball players so his poor play stands out. I believe Masai signed Quick either under pressure or as revenge against the organization because he knew his days were numbered, just like Glen Grunwald did to us back in the day with Yogi Stewart. Point is, we're stuck with this low IQ 😂 player until he learns team basketball, gets his confidence and hopefully a QUICK trade 😉 finally, I think the coach understands, skipping around, having fun doesn't equal wins and will play Shead more.
We gave Battle a contract for a reason. LETS USE HIM!!!!

Bro let's not go into hype overdrive mode with this team yet. Especially when they took a W over a team with half their guys sitting out due to injury … truthfully it was way too close for most of the non-Battle minutes for us to even take comfort in. Jamison is literally a minimum wage guy at the bottom of the rotation who we shouldn't be counting on to save us. Here is my concern tier for this season so far:

BI, RJ, Mamu, Jamal, Jakobe
Neutral On:
Ochai, CMB, Jamison
Not impressed but neither concerned. These guys just do their jobs. I hope Ochai starts committing fouls smarter as in avoid the poking and lunges when the other team is in the bonus. Although it's about what you expect from a guy figuring out his role player position and will get better and smarter. CMB is a rookie so he's already delivering above expectations which are low for a rookie. Jamison is streaky so a survey of one game isn't going to hype me up but he's more upside and is a calming force whenever he's on the court. Jamison is about what you'd expect from a shooter of his caliber but I sense there is more layers to unlock with him so it's worthwhile to keep him sticking around this team for a few more years.
Concerned On:
Scottie, Jakob
Scottie is playing great individually but he's not contributing to winning team basketball. His passes suck, his court vision is either way too ahead of this team or is out of sync with the rest of them. He takes ref's calls too personally and stalls getting back on defense to complain at the refs. Like my dude complain when the whistle blows but while the action is live we need you getting back ASAP. He overhelps also which is leading to horrible defensive coverage and is just bad message to send to your teammates that you have no faith in them. RJ might need your help against Mobley but against a smaller player what is Scottie doing coming in to help. Or trying to help Ochai … bro Ochai is one of the better Raptors defenders so Scottie should have full faith he has his guy contained or will give him the harder shot. Same for helping Mamu … Scottie needs to guard the perimeter and have faith his guys are now more stoutly in defending. Jakob is injured so that is concerning that we don't have a decent big as backup but even worse is Jakob is being asked to do other things near the perimeter and that just not great use of his talents. Plus Jak's shot is not going but I hope it's due to the mask and the back sprain more than his shot dynamic being altered.
5-Alarm Fire Worried By:
IQ, Gradey, Darko
IQ's just doesn't fit when Jakob is not around and most of his PG duties have been delegated away. I see Jamal and immediately see he's playing the role of PG but IQ doesn't look like he is the PG whenever he's on the court. I want him taking more shots but he's rushing those shots and choosing the worst shots to take so his selection and rushed style is throwing his accuracy way off. I literally thought Jamal took his spot that Cleveland game and was actually thinking of a Jamal starter and Chuckie Hepburn backup rotation as something Darko should try … if I an amateur thought it I'm sure the coaching staff had it cross their minds for a split second in that game. Gradey is poor at defending, poor at offense, and simply poor at shooting … guys he went backwards this summer. Not sure what we'll do with him but now is the time for Bobby to spin up the trade rumours with Gradey involved in those conversations I would say. Darko is still doing beta testing and placing the team in hard positions to win … Jamison was the right play but it took too long for coaching staff to realize these guys needed spacing and that is unacceptable for a coach to not pick up on that sooner. Darko should be more conservative and ramp up his new style of play over the season and instead just get them doing what they were doing the second half of last season as a conservative way to rack up easy wins especially on the road. There is one thing being a wunderkind coach who see's where the NBA is going and there is another thing about choosing the right place and time to incorporate the stuff you were cooking up. Sneak it in during the 3rd quarter for example or pick a random quarter to ambush teams with it. Then expand on it to two or more quarters. Like have a roll out strategy that maximizes opportunities to win otherwise I'm getting the sense players want playoffs but the coaching staff want to tank.
