Yk I’m actually siding with Ja on this. Hear me out he thrives off of freedom, creativity and rhythm when he runs the show. That’s what makes him such an electrifying player since he knows damn well how to play to his strengths. But this whole system contradicts it which hurts his production, yes he has his issues but if they let him operate the lead the team as their PG, then it would be more beneficial since he is the star player after all. I think the coaching staff might actually be holding him back since this whole strategy is pretty weird tbh and he certainly doesn’t look comfortable out there either so that’ll just frustrate him even more.
Yeah the dude had off court problems but playing your best player only 28 min is brain dead. Also doesn’t make sense to take them out even if they’re having a slow game. It seems the system isn’t designed for when your roster is depleted which it is right now for the Grizzlies. HOWEVER, Ja, you can’t be standoffish when things don’t look good, you gotta be able to keep a level head about rough patches.

Memphis grizzlies gm is doing nothing to improve the roster. He just selects new rookies every season. No significant trades at all. Ja knows this and it shows.
