Someone better tell Flagg to call Keith Vanhorn and ask him what he would do differently in his career. This is simply the exact same thing. Great player / wrong time.
The issue with Flagg is that he is a 3/4 (traditional 3 play style, traditional 4 size and skills ) and no coach is playing the 3 as the center point of the team. It don't sell tickets and yes Dallas is trying to place him where he will be more marketable.

Davis and Flagg should play Center and Pf respectively. Both switchable on defense. They need to figure out how to fill the remaining 3 starting spot. If Kyrie is back all they needed to fill is the sg and sf position. They have assets to make trades.

We are less than a month into the season and the Mavs already have their hands up. 😳 Might as well just blow up the roster and trade everyone but Cooper Flagg and Derek Lively. Gilbert just be talking. Number one, the only thing anyone ever said about Giannis is “get a jump shot,” simple. Now, Cooper Flagg — no, he should not be running point. Don’t listen to what Gilbert Arenas is saying about how he doesn’t want him to be a traditional point guard; it’s not about that. The boy isn’t even a point-forward stylist to me — that’s not his game.
LeBron, Ben Simmons, Draymond, Iguodala, Lamar Odom — that’s not his lane. He’s more like a Keith Van Horn mixed with Utah Jazz Gordon Hayward, with a traditional David Lee-type IQ around the rim. If his shot develops, maybe we’ll eventually see a mix of Kevin Love/Kevin McHale blended with Chris Mullin.
The issue is y’all won’t let these white boys just be good white boys and be the best version of themselves.
