As a Clippers fan since 1992, we stink this season. I already knew it when we barely beat the Pelicans. Clippers media made the rounds showing that Kawhi buzzer beater. It was a great shot, a wet ball that Kawhi would call it. But something still felt off after that game. It was more a sigh of relief than how good we really are.
I'm totally disconnected with my Clippers this season. It's too much a reminder of the 2013 and 2022 Lakers. We are actually older than them and the 2004 Lakers' squad on average. Ty Lue really isn't a great coach. He's simply overrated thanks to 2016. And Lawrence Frank doesn't know how to build a winner since he's never been a winner himself.
Why are we building a roster around a bunch of guys who were relevant from the previous decade? Kawhi is NOT a top 5 player in THIS decade because he's hardly been available since 2021. Harden passed his prime when he went to Brooklyn. CP3 made the Finals in 2021 but hasn't been an all-star since 2022 and is 40 in Year 21. Beal has always been overpaid and overrated..
Imagine having Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Isiah Thomas team up in 1996? That's what we got with this team. We are older than the 1998 Rockets. Most of our "stars" are on the wrong side of 30. Most legends don't win rings after the age of 31. It will never happen with this team. Even if we found ourselves in the regular season, it still won't produce playoff success. We haven't made it passed the First Round since 2021 even with 50-win seasons and a division banner.
Ty Lue is an overrated coach no different than Doc Rivers. Most great coaches never get fired as the head coach. Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, and Gregg Popovich never got fired. Steve Kerr and Erik Spoelstra have never gotten fired. Ty Lue was fired 6 games into the season in 2018-2019 by the Cavaliers. A Cavs franchise that won 64 games last season while Lue has never led any team to 60 wins in his life. Lue has been on this long leash by Ballmer that he has never truly earned or deserved.
Not only does my team need to deal with the poster boy of load management and we always need to stress out about having B2Bs, we have an exec who has to clue how to draft except this one time in 2018 when we traded Miles Bridges for this kid who looks like the most consistent scoring guard since Kobe or even MJ. He won the scoring title, MVP, and Finals MVP not seen since MJ and looks ready to be part of a championship dynasty. Trading SGA for PG has become more destructive than when Dallas traded Luka to the Lakers.
We don't necessarily need to draft the next JokiΔ or Ginobili in the 2nd round. Look at the Lakers with Alex Caruso and Austin Reaves. We just need to develop young players because we need young blood in our roster to keep up with younger teams. We don't have that. We have walking corpses for most of these former stars. It's a young man's game but I guess Lawrence Frank isn't aware of this. He sunk this ship. Need to blow it all up very soon including firing the coaching staff and the execs..
Steve Ballmer is clueless, though. He's never been seen as smart. He is living off when Bill Gates ripped off Apple with the GUI. Yes, Apple didn't invent the GUI. Xerox did. But Gates, behind Apple's back, decided to copy it and then sold it as Windows. That's how Ballmer became rich. Through theft from Bill Gates. When Ballmer ran Microsoft, they went down. He has no clue. Ty Lue and Lawrence Frank just keep duping this guy.
My Clippers are hopeless. Maybe we can get it together at some point next month or the next months after that. But same old sh*t results in the playoffs. Out of the First Round. The Fakers are way better than us. My team has zero chemistry and zero regard at winning games because we need to keep load managing our guys. Ty Lue gets looked upon as some genius when he should've been fired 2 years ago.
I do believe we need a disaster of a season before it gets good again. We need this season to be a disaster so Ballmer can finally have the "ballz" to fire people and make sweeping changes. We need to get rid of everybody. Not just players from the roster. Hire a far better medical and training staff. Sick of watching all these injuries. The GM and coach are clueless and only care about the checks they're getting from this clueless, dumb owner.
