I think they should stick with this roster for this year. Hopefully get malik back sooner than later. If we are able to somehow pull a lauri trade then id be happy but id also be a bit worried about how the synergy would be off the bat (if it is a mid season trade). I would hate for a midseasom trade to mess with our "power of friendship".
Detroit Basketball!
There we go, the heat still that team tho 😂😂
As a Detroit fan coming into the season on a hot start feels so good for once
In my opinion, we dont need a swing. Cade Ivey Ron Ausar Stew Duren is the future
To answer your question. I dont think this year is the year for the pistons to make that move. I think next season will be when they can make a decision bc they are still trying to see who ivey, duren, ron and ausar are going forward. Ivey and duren are going to be have to be extended. Which both could be looking for 20 plus million dollars. Once they make that decision then they can determine who can be added to fit the team and make them a true contender. it is also easier to move guys once they are making money that can be matched.
Im cool on trading the core btw want them to grow together since the start
I love these in depth breakdowns, I legit basically only watch enjoy content throughout my week 😭 nba season is so back
My Pistons finally getting some love! Appreciate you P. We coming for #1 in the east
Lauri has been a big name floated around for us and it’s not a name that I hate. I’d love to have him on the team. But the team desperately needs a secondary ball handler for when Cade is off the court or needs to be relieved from the ball. Ivey could be that but with his health and some of his plays I’m not 100% certain. I think that’s probably a move we wait to make until Ivey comes back but he’s also due for a pay day this year which I’m also not sold on.
Yesssirrr P , showing the motor some love ❤
W vid P
P one one of my fav nba plugs rn, him, kenny & kone
In today’s climate of the NBA, I say take the SWING no later then this offseason. If that right move isn’t there by deadline then just ride this out and see if maybe they can go a step or two further (second rd, conference finals) it’s a stretch… but with how fast the league is moving today in regards of who’s hot n who’s not you cannot wait to be REAL. Memphis was a 2-3 seed two years ina row look now. ATL went to a conference finals in 21 n can’t sniff it again since. I just think the windows are much shorter nowadays. 7 different champions in last 7 years for a reason
When you ask “when is the time to go after a second star”, my answer is probably when you have a clear assessment of all your assets, have adopted the core from those assets, and are now evaluating what you can do with what you have leftover, I.e. 7-9 guys in the lineup, or guys on the last year of a rookie deal, which brings me to my next point.
The issue the pistons have is we still don’t know what Jaden Ivey really looks like with this core, and as a GM, his value is at an all time low with the injuries. But, He’s the most valuable asset I think they’ll trade in a deal for a #2 like Lauri, yet again, they have no clue how much he’s worth. Until you can evaluate the only unsolved part of the core that is Jaden Ivey, you don’t really have the reason or the assets to go get a number two without giving up young players. Young players who, as bad as it sounds, have demonstrated greater value to the core than Ivey. Ron, Ausar, stew, duren.
At the end of the day, while the east is wide open and now is more than an ideal time for us to strike from an environmental standpoint, the roster really isn’t on an urgent clock. The young guys are developing, Duren is getting paid for sure this summer, Ausar too, so all but one contract is ensured for the core with Ivey. Until then, unless Ivey comes back either atrocious or phenomenal, this season will not be the time to go get that second guy. Even then, they probably won’t start shopping until at least this next summer.
I'ma die hard fan since day 1 I've never seen them be good untill now I was born in 03 and missed that team 😂 it's been hell but we here now
Deeeeetroooooit Basketballlll
We dont need a swing. Our swing is Jaden Ivey getting healthy. This team will is on track to be the 1 seed. We are Thunder east. Just resign our own guys because we have unlimited untapped potential with this young core (Cade, Duren, Ivey, Stew, Ausar, Holland).
If Ivey comes back good we making a run fs
YEAH P
Appreciate the Detroit Love! But Trajan has expressed that this yr he is analyzing the internal talent and that is top priority over making a swing move this season.
After seeing Lauri in that last game I’m cool on getting him and paying that hefty price tag. I’m fine with us just standing pat right now and developing what we got and swinging for a bigger fish in the offseason.
I remember when our starting lineup was Hayes, Bey, Livers, Hamidi Diallo, and Stew. We really made it out of Troy Weaver hell🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
We welcome you with open arms if you decide to add another team P. We need a Pistons fan on the NOTB couch anyways🤝🏽🤝🏽
They just dominated Markenen. He doesn't play D (troit basketball). Pistons are some young monsters led by a young monster! Core built from the ground up, like the Lions. Other teams not ready for their rise. And this is the topper: the way they play is textbook basketball, which is why they can plug and play other players around their young core. Respects tho.
Appreciate the love Uncle P 🙏🏽 and tell Kenny we got a new KOT4Q in Detroit
P whenever you touchdown in the D I’ll make sure you get treated like Obama in 08❤
yeahhhhhh my boy pistons fan and content creator here 4 in a row.
YESSIR
Actually the Piston have 4 first rounders in their starting lineup 4 lottery picks to be exact and 2 top 5 picks in Cade and Ausar but I understand your analogy. Lol
I’m probably in the top 1% of Pistons fans on the patience scale, so my all in move window may differ than most. IMO it makes the most sense to do an all in move post playoffs.
1.) you really need to see what you have in Ivey and Duren. Obviously Duren is playing well now, but you still need to see how he progress. Ivey had a great season last year before he got hurt, so we need to see if he can do that again for a season. If both these players look like they can be a true number 2 and 3 then that changes what that all in move is versus if one or none of the two look that way.
When it comes to Lauri, he’s a good player but unrealistic imo as a target. Danny Ainge has a history of overvaluing his players until they have zero value or contract runs out. He only wants to do trades that are one sided. This is why Boston was stagnant under him and why Walker Kessler required a good young player and 2 first round picks. Danny Ainge in all likelihood would want 2 of our non-Cade core youths, additional salary to match, and all of our 1sts. I don’t want to give Ausar, Duren, and Ron rn. I also don’t want to give up all first round picks either. That’s why imo the best move is to wait until you sign Ivey and Duren on contracts, so if you do move on from one you can better match their contract. Much easier to trade for a star when you can combine some mid sized contracts together.
In my perfect world the all in move is really buying on a player who is a part of a team that gets blown up. Trey Murphy is a really good player that can potentially buy in with our culture. If we had an Aaron Gordon type player then we would thrive. I think that opportunity will arise. I also feel the growth of Stew, Duren, Ausar, and Ivey will make what’s missing way more clear by the playoffs
P you a real hoops enjoyer fr appreciate the content brotha
Can you make a Laker vid. Whats different abt this squad early in the season???
As an nba fan it would be great if they can malik beasley back he had such a good year with them.
I think when you have a talent like cade, especially in the east right now you always make the contender move. If you wait to make that move you never know what could change
Unfortunately the Pistons might win a ring before the Lions
I was at game 6 last season against your Knicks. I gained a ton of respect for your squad after that. I'm hoping for a rematch in the playoffs.
DEEEEEEEEEEEETROIT BASKETBALLLLLLLLLLLL
wow, you did your research and i respect this a whole lot. youtubers like kenny, rusty, the deep 3 & threecone aren't familiar enough to know about detroit and aren't pushed to learn, so this is special and awesome. subscribing fs
Cade for clutch player of the year
Cade for mvp
But i agree P this teams needs a star alongside Cade but i try to see if d book available in the off season
P I love that you showing us some love we really appreciate your takes cuz you’ve always been unbiased 🙌🏿
Tbf I think most Pistons fans were also a bit concerned with the lack of shooters on the roster to start this year, but the internal development Trajan wanted to see is happening. All small sample sizes, but Stew shooting 39% on 3.5 attempts per game and Ron shooting 34% on 3.3 attempts per game from 3 is really encouraging. Duren has been a monster playing for that 30mil/year contract he was asking for on his rookie extension. And I still think Malik Beasley will resign whenever he gets cleared. Internal improvement + reinforcements with Ivey and possibly Beasley has me excited for this season to play out 🔥
Deeeeeetttrrrrrooooittttt bbaaaaaasssssskkkkeeeettttbaaaaallll!!!!!!!
