We got rid of our shooters in the off-season and we don't have constant shooting to space the floor. Rn we are easy to guard, pack the paint and get the ball out of Ja's hands. Teams are daring someone else to beat them and let us shoot 3s.
Pls do a segment about players making what SANTI making with compared stats his defense is horrible we need a defensive floor rim running big SANTI is good but soft need some athleticism next to JA and fire the Coach Miles Bridges could be the solution to everything
It amazes me when people question the defensive prowess of this team without the likes of Zach Edey, BC & some others out. I think the Defense will be fine when Edey & others like Scotty get back. It is the Offense I am concerned with, even when our team gets whole. It's taking much longer for the inside game to click than I certainly expected it to even with the likes of Edey & Clark being out. The inside game is critical to our Offensive flow and the opening up of our outside shooting & Isolation plays when needed.
Keys for me:
1. Get the pick & roll going with an occasional post play for assuring honesty from our opponents' defenses. Looking forward to Edey's return to help with pick & roll as well as rim protection.
2. Find a way to unleash our wings. Hopefully Zack will help with that , just by his presence alone.
3. Trying to win games with end of bench players getting significant & important game minutes & playing against teams with better playing starters & bench guys than we can currently deploy is a very challenging thing to do for this team. Current roster (starting line up especially) does not promote fast starts on either end of the court. Trying to stay defensively focused at the start is okay. But isn't working for this team. And we are not slowing teams down primarily because we can't score or keep up with teams Offensively thus putting so much pressure on the Defense. It's an ugly combination right now.
Let's just keep rooting for the guys to hold their on until our Big Guys get back. Hopefully they'll make a big difference in how the team looks for the rest of season.
