  1. I wrote something to Kenny at Bluff City Media yesterday that bears repeating: If you want things to change, you have to change things.

If we want Ja to be more durable and play more games, he has to play more sensibly.
Is this as fun for him? No. Does he still have to do it? Yes. He just needs to find the right balance.
Tuomas does everything humanly possible to win, and Ja has to set the example for everyone else and do the same. Finally take accountability and be a leader. Have the mindset of a champion. Promote excellence at every turn. This is very different from what was expected of him under Jenkins and is a big adjustment, but one he has to make if we’re gonna be champions.

If we’re gonna be champions as a small market team, we have to do things differently than the other 29 teams.
Tuomas in his pre game answered a question about rotations and minutes in a way that said: “I know what the f*ck I’m doing and you don’t, so leave me alone to do it”, which is true. None of us think about these things as deeply and holistically as he does. There’s a million different variables that go into it that we don’t know about. Most people in America haven’t even made the effort to understand him or his System so they really don’t know.

I talk a lot about being champions in this comment because that’s what Tuomas does.
He comes in, makes radical changes, holds every single person radically accountable, and turns a team into champions in record breaking time.
This isn’t possible if everyone resists all the changes. It’s not a gentle process, and it’s not supposed to be. I’ve talked about revolutions being messy.

Right now all the players are feeling the ungentleness of the process and are handling it in different ways. It’s not uncommon for players to be unhappy with the way Tuomas does things in the beginning, even in Europe. He is completely uncompromising and devoted to excellence, at any cost. This is the mindset one needs to have to become a champion.
Prisoners of the moment don’t become champions. You need to understand delayed gratification to have any chance.

That IS what we’re doing. Becoming champions. That’s what it’s about for Tuomas. Not trying to look good early on to appease fans. Instead putting all his energy into the longterm goal of complete and utter domination.
With the awful injury situation and compromised preparations for the season because of it, it’s going to take the time it takes and that’s just something people need to accept.

Tuomas gon’ do what Tuomas gon’ do, because he’s the championship winning mastermind coach.
You can get stuck on short term effects but don’t expect him, or me, to do the same. We look at the big, longterm picture and have championship mindsets. Radical changes always make things look worse in the short run. Have some vision.

  2. This offense looks buns. I get that we’re missing guys but I’m tired of seeing guys who shouldn’t be running the offense run the offense while Ja or Jaren is in the corner😭
We’re not getting the right production out of either of our players

  3. Everyone talking about Ja and his happiness. Is Jaren having fun I don't see the same energy from Jaren. Is the coach making the team unhappy and not wanting to play. Grizzlies are better than they are showing.

  4. It’s amazing how quickly the fans (and many of the Memphis fanboy media) went back to defending Ja with all their hearts. The fans are more bipolar than Ja. He is a coach killer because he gets unconditional love forever while the coach is on hot seat in less than 2 weeks despite the injuries and the drama.

  5. Some uncomfortable conversations need to be had about the two "stars". Also. everyone that shot the ball last night shot over 50% except your starting PG, SG, and SF. Again. Uncomfortable conversations need to be had.

  6. ISAIAH STEWART EMBARRASSED JAREN..FORGET JAREN OFFENSE HIS REBOUNDING AND SCREEN SETTING ALL THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MATTER IS WHY WE CANT GO FAR WITH THIS TEAM AND ITS ALL JAREN FAULT

  7. JAREN LITERALLY LEAVES HIS MAN WIDE OPEN TO GO GAURD SOMEBODY ELSE MAN AND JOCK LANDALE ALREADY GOT THEIR MAN SEALED ON DEFENSE..WHICH LEFT ISAIAH STEWART OPEN MAJORITY OF THE GAME..HE IS WHY WE LOSE GAMES ALL THOSE LITTLE THINGS FACTOR TO LOSES

  8. What do these final Grizzlies ANALYTICS convey, since they’re the PRIMARY driving force(s) being considered in today’s stat driven NBA, regarding success and failure.

Grizzlies (+-) analytics in their games thus far, especially the losses have been filled with more (-) than (+) thus far into this very young season. It’s absolutely frustrating to look up at the scoreboard and see all 5 Grizz players on the floor posting (-) pretty much every game this year; with some of them being double digit (-) analytics. Who deserves the blame (at least SOME)? I’ll wait because it sure as hell ain’t the players subbing and attempting to get into some type of rhythm out there. What’s the Grizz defensive or offensive philosophy now? What do they hang their hat on as a team now? Zero post presence; zero pick and roll action! Just trying to understand the overall scheme being utilized and how it puts Grizzlies players in position to utilize their strongest skillsets that will eventually lead to wins!

  9. JAREN GETS BLOWN BY A LOT ON DEFENSE, ANYBODY HE GUARDIANG IS GOING TO SCORE ON HIM OR GET FOULED BY HIM. YALL KEEP TALKING ABOUT JAREN OFFENSE THE LITTLE THINGS HE DONT DO AS A BIG MAN HURT US EACH AND EVERYTIME REBOUNDING,BOXING OUT,FOULS, SETTING SCREENS WITH HIS HANDS

  10. The whole team looks uncomfortable. When are the owners going to fix the coaching staff. People may not agree with Taylor Jenkins but we had an identity and an edge. Where is the aggression, the intensity. If you need scoring and you losing put GG in. Why leave a bucket getter on the bench.

  11. I think Ja is mainly upset with the unathletic lineup coach TI keep running out there with him.

  12. No ones talking about the Grizzlies continuing injury list keeping starters out.
Islo and his Staff are not competent.
Can't win without Morant. He's not the problem!

  13. Wells is not a starter period, stop trying to make him 1 as of right now our best starting 2 & 3 would be Vince & Coward. Hell at this point I'd try Coward at the 2 & GG at the 3. 1 things for sure Ja makes everybody better so try GG with him instead of the other trash they surround him with

  14. Grizzlies had one of the top scoring offenses in the NBA and they give away Bane. Morant is not the problem! Give away Morant and you don't have a competing team.
This coaching staff is lost. Smiling when losing and trying to make fans believe everything is good is a joke!

  15. Let's get Pippen, Jerome, and Edey back first and then I'll decide to start sweating or not. Then eventually Clarke too. Lack of depth… That's what it seems. Ja played 35 minutes so he can't be whining about playing time. Lockdale is fine doing what he does as a BACKUP. Vince and Cam do ok filling in but are not the same ball handling guards to keep the bench flowing like Pippen and Jerome can do. We've only had 1 blowout so far. You will need to establish who is gonna be your 3pt shooting threat in the near future though… Or we will be left behind like in past seasons.

  16. In back to back games, players like Wells lose their legs. Coaches that have playing history adjust rotations. Why was GG Jackson not an option?

  17. Hang on until Edey gets back.
Noooo, he is not that good.
Yes,he will help but it is not fixing this mess

  18. Coward needs to start he is already the 3rd best player on the team. I agree with you Joe, coward in kcp out, at least wells defends well. And put Bassey instead of Landale too, that's completely logical, JJJ is not a big rebounder, so you need Bassey. It was impressive what Bassey did yesterday against pistons

  19. Could you possibly relay to your co-host to stop asking Ja antagonistic questions? Please? I promise I’m not trying to attack I just can’t take the postgames with Ja anymore lol

  20. Start Bassey asap! This team has always been at it's best with a physical force in the middle that can set tough screens and grab boards aka JV or Stevo. And yes start Coward! He's the best wing you have, he has to be starting

  21. If Edey is supposed to save this team it’s time to move to Seattle.. just because mlk was shot here doesn’t mean there should be an nba team here i will never change my mind on that

  22. Barring further injury I could foresee a ten man rotation, of Zach, Jaren, Ja, Wells, and some day to day combination of KCP, Ty Jerome, Santi, Brandon, Scottie Pippen Jr., and Cedric Coward. These 10 will be going to get the vast majority of the minutes.

  23. I would trade Santi for Aaron Gordon if I were memphis cause Santi not a good defender when it comes to playing defense i believe Aaron is i think he is athletic then aldama i believe he can get better rebounds than Santi aldama so yeah I would get rid of him for Aaron Gordon
