The Mavericks Keep Getting Worse
It felt like things couldn’t possibly have gotten worse for the Mavericks after last season. After making the 2024 finals Nico Harrison and the Mavs traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers, Kyrie Irving tore his acl and the Mavericks missed the playoffs. After that Dallas lucked into the first pick and selected Cooper Flagg, but ten games into the new NBA season it looks like Dallas is even worse than last year.

To all of the people dumping on Cooper Flagg for his struggles early on, shut up. The guy is an 18-year-old rookie in the probably the worst position out of anyone in his draft class, including having to play a position he's NEVER PLAYED before. Give the guy some damn time.

As a mavs fan, at this point the only way I see forward is to blow everything up. Trade everyone, keep Coop and MAYBE kai. Thing is with the players we have we can still get pretty good value off the trades. Get some solid role players, get some draft capital and be back in 4-5 seasons.
The only way to apease the ball gods is to fire Nico.

Confused why the group thinks Nico is "dumb" when the reporting was clear that Nico didn't like Luka for non-basketball reasons and tried to get rid of him when he had the chance regardless of the outcome for the Mavs.

remember that kyrie tore his acl, not achillis, and all reports indicate (including his own words) that his rehab is progressing very well. It's probably going to be December to January, February at the latest. and tbh this team needs a floor general BADLY, so he should be a shot in the arm to the offense, but not enough to contend
