The Grizzlies lose their fourth straight game, would they consider trading Ja Morant?

The Grizzlies’ losing streak stretched to four as they were outmatched at home against the Rockets. Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr both struggled to score and the team looked to be out of sync as they tried to handle Houston’s size.

To discuss the loss and to talk about the feasibility of a coaching change or a Ja Morant trade, Chris Herrington (The Daily Memphian) joins this episode of Grits and Grinds.

  1. This channel should be solely focused on Kleinman and constantly discuss the history of his moves because the rest of the basketball world is unaware

  2. I think the city of Memphis is more to blame than the people trying to improve the roster. If the Grizzlies were in Vegas, Kleiman would have no problem adding talent

  3. People need to understand Tuomas Iisalo’s modus operandi.

He comes to a team, makes radical changes, holds everybody radically accountable, turns them into champions in record breaking time.

This is what he does. This is what he is doing here. We had no chance of a championship with Taylor Jenkins. We have every chance of a championship with Tuomas Iisalo.

This is what we are doing now. Laying the foundation for a championship. It’s not about looking good early. How could we, with an impossible injury situation that completely derailed the preparations for the season?

Everything Tuomas does is with a championship mindset. Memphis at large doesn’t have this. The fandom and press don’t have it. But you need to acquire it. This is me calling you out.

Prisoners of the moment don’t become champions. It requires an ability to grasp the concept of delayed gratification.

  4. Ja got upset when Jae Crowder left in 2019-2020, so… I dunno, I imagine he wanted the team to run it back each year, coaches/players, etc.

  5. To hire two inexperienced HC back to back says a lot. To win a European championship is similar to winning a G-League title. The GM and owner aren't serious about winning in Memphis.😂

  6. I suspect Morant is upset over the new coaches style of play. It's not what Ja wants to do and his attitude reflects it. Time will tell if they can make the transition.

  7. Kyrie still crossed over players and had mad handles and shooting percentage deep into his NBA career so what’s Ja’s excuse. Kyrie has been in some effed up situations and he still showed up and showed out. Ja flew too close to the sun and his athleticism suffered.

  8. Regardless of everything are we beating the Thunder and Nuggets? No. Do we have a brighter future than the spurs? No. Best option is trade Ja And Jaren for as many picks and young prospects as possible. Move off vets for picks. Rebuild around Coward and future rookies. Love the current guys but the ceiling has been reached. Ja is the best talent we have ever had but I’m not trying to enjoy the play-in until he’s gone. For all of Klienman’s flaws in trades he can draft. Keep him aboard and give him a huge treasure chest of picks to work with and I think we will be better off for it. This was his first time as a GM just like Presti with the Thunder. The 2nd team build will be better. Look at what we started with asset wise after grit n grind. An average war chest of assets. Give Klienman a surplus and trust the process. A team like Memphis must build this way. If we start the rebuild now we can start to improve by the time the lease is up. Ja brings fans but winning brings more. Ja era has run its course.

  9. Saying ja athleticism decline is the drunkest thing I heard y'all seen the first games or him overseas he said he not drinking or crashing to the basket like he used too cuz them folks used to knock him out the air
