Trading Quick for a center is something that came to me today.. couple this with calling up our G league point guard phenom. This would torpedo us into contenders.. can this be done? Dare to dream.. Go Raps Go!!!
The starters are in "practice-ish" mode, 15ish minutes per game. Give it some time.
The rest of lineups can work well for 33ish minutes.
It's not as bad as it seems.
Imagine a lineup with Jak, Sandro, Gradey, Jamal, and one of RJ, IQ. Now imagine the starting lineup with a Big who creates space working with Scottie, BI and CMB and then if you add a PG who can penetrate and create you've got a top tier team. I'm sick of players playing away from their strengths and then we're forcing Scottie to play defensive roles that destroy his legs because he's covering for the teams weaknessess. A trade is needed and Jak is not your starting Big and IQ is not your starting PG unless you have massive holes. You don't need stars you just need mid-tier guys who can fill these roles and play average D.
It bugs me that Quick seems to have horse blinders on when going to the hoop, on a fast break. He can't see his teammates on a fast break. It is almost identical to Gary Trent Jr when he was on a fast break. Both too often could get an easy assist if they seemed aware of their teammates. It is a bad habit Quick needs to break.
I know we only saw 14 minutes of IQ last season before his first injury, on opening night.
But he seems to have lost a burst from that injury.
Look back at it, I think you'll see what I'm talking about.
The raptors are going 50-32
Those 3 seconds were cruel bringing down his averages for no reason
Always surprised by the lack of confidence you guys have in Shead.
I loved when Ingram threw that bottle. When that happened, i didnt care if we won or lost that game, he showed us heart and passion, and the desire to lead this team!
Daniel gafford??!! 🤔
RJ has gone from being labeled as a “toxic asset” to his contract being a bargain.
I think far too often about the trade that almost was for Maxey.
They've had horrible luck at center position, injuries have totally dismantled any development at this position and getting one (especially a 7footer) via trade or free agency is tenuous and expensive at best and franchise crippling at worst.
WERE SO BACK
I think strength of schedule so early is moot. Injuries will change up everything.
Appreciate you guys… Gradey is the greatest. Those shots at the rim are going to drop as time goes on.
Come on guys, we spent 3 years with the worse half court offense, that is all we have been hearing, and now they are 7th and we spend 3 seconds on it and spend 15 min talking about rebounding? Love you both but seriously, let's milk that great half court offense for a bit, let us have something nice. baayyeee
I think we should trade for herb jones , and a center , gafford , allen , carter jr, Claxton , just to name a few centers but i definitely believe we need to make tht herb trade ! A lineup of herb, Scottie, and cmb with a rim protector would be the best defense in the league !
What would be your opinion about getting Gafford from the Mav’s what’s a realistic trade you would do?
Because this is a fan site, we can micro analyze this team and criticize or support any thing we like but as was stated at the start I'll take the .500 record. Even if the team finishes at 41 wins it's still an 11 game improvement and should be considered a good starting point. To get to 45-50 wins would send a strong message to the league and pundits that they are on the rise. Myself , if we have a similar improvement to what Detroit did last season I would treat it with the same optimism their fans feel at this point.
It was fun to hear your GD analysis while a fair part of the fanbase would prefer he never see the floor, especially with Battle semingly stuck to the bench. I like both but right now the coach considers Battle a situational player. It's still 10 games in so I believe he will get planty of chances to become a regular contributor this season. He's too valuable not to be and i think he understands his role on the team
IQ and 2027 top 8 protected to bulls for white and huerter, Jakobe for Keon swap (maybe throw in a srp), and Battle + Och for Goga. This would actually change my life I stg
I don't think this Gradey talk is basketball related.
Raptors weakness is too much guards and no number 1 big man
Gradey is not even half as good as you say. Jakobe and Gradey is not better than A J Lawson or Mogbo.
Raptor are clowning for choosing boys over men.
Brooklyn game is tomorrow not today!! Great listen as always!
COME ON GUYS, …
… WE GOT SOME PLAYERS, WHO WORKED HARD! …
… UNFORTUNATELY SOME "GOOF BALLS" OF SOME PLAYERS WHO RATHER DO TV. COMMERCIALS INSTEAD IMPROVING THEIR SKILL$ AND START DELIVERING GOOD BASKETBALL 🏀, FOR WHAT THEY ARE WELL PAID FOR …
CHEERS 🍻
We’re just getting warmed up. Wait until we lock in
I would love to believe Gradey will be the player we hoped he would be when we drafted him but right now I think battle has shown he might be the best SG on the team and just hasn’t been given a chance to show what he can do consistently
