Boston Celtics DERAILED by bad shooting, late mistakes | Jordan Walsh a BRIGHT SPOT

Boston Celtics stumble against the Philadelphia 76ers as late-game execution and offensive lapses haunt their clutch performance. Can Joe Mazzulla’s squad overcome recurring issues and finally capitalize on transition opportunities? Missed shots, crucial defensive breakdowns—especially from Jaylen Brown—and substitution choices raise tough questions for Boston’s bid to move above .500.

John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal unpacks the team’s shooting woes, the impact of Anfernee Simons’ bench contributions, and the emerging role of Jordan Walsh as a defensive difference-maker against Tyrese Maxey. With Derrick White and Payton Pritchard struggling for consistency and lineup changes looming, the Celtics must sharpen their decision-making to reverse a mediocre start. Upcoming matchups with the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets offer a chance for redemption—will Boston seize these opportunities or continue to falter?

  1. Afernee Simons is hot. He scores 10 points in the 4th quarter, and the Celtics are up by 9. Then, Joe Mazulla takes him out of the game for no reason, and the Celtics lose the game. Let the guy play; we lost the game because of Joe Mazulla.

  2. Switch Simons for PP to start. He gets fewer minutes than PP but is hotter. Nice seeing DWhite have a good game, hope he's baaaack.

  3. Jordan Walsh, come on, he's not going anywhere, you can't have a guy who just plays defence, plays 29 min., and scores 8 points, and 6 points on Monday, he won't be on the team for long.

  4. Not even being biased, John nice analysis of Queta being open multiple times. Keep up the good work.

  5. My recollection is that Anfernee Simon was substituted into the game for the last second offensive play. However he never touched the basketball.

  6. Just Remind yourself a loss this season is a win. This team is a center away from being very respectable plus adding tatum.

  7. Inexperience is rearing it's head. Think we are playing hard just not executing and paying attention to details. JB said at the start of the season that we want to be the smartest team in the league, definitely not there yet but there's still time. Shout out to Walsh for stepping up

  8. Awesome shirt again John you killing it with the shirts and uploads ! Great episode!💚🍀☘️

  9. The Celtics aren't playing that bad. Actually, they're playing very well, but need improvement in 3 areas. 1, defense, 2 3 point shooting, and 3, free throws. If their 3's start to fall, they'll be a very good team. And if they made all of their free throws, they'd have won at least a couple of more tight games. But overall I think they are doing well.

  10. We absolutely suck at end of game shots its always a low percentage/contested 3 or someone fumbles the ball and we have to throw up a prayer. Can we ever get something going to the basket and worst case scenario get to the free throw line? Even when tatum was healthy it was always a step back 3. Does mazzulla draw anything up??

  11. All this off-season talk about how the Celtics are just gonna play faster and here they are at the bottom of pace per game. Only team that plays slower are the Clippers who are the oldest team in the NBA.
