Justin Champagnie DESERVES to be a Washington Wizards Core Player | Wizards Drop Seventh Straight

It was a tough night for the Wizards, who were missing Kyshawn George and Bilal Coulibaly. However, in the team’s 7th-straight loss, Justin Champagnie continued to prove why he’s so underrated.

He had a tough night on offense, but he grabbed 11 rebounds, 6th of them on the offensive glass. Is it time to consider him a potential core player for the Wizards?

Ben Strober and Abdullah Ayubi break it all down.

  1. Thanks for quoting me. Ben mentioned Jared Butler. Best PG prospect I've ever seen, but with a heart condition. He's going to make millions in Serbia. If he had to be bought out to come back here and he wanted to he's worth it.

  2. Cavs fan here. I am going to say this about the Wizards, they have pieces.

They have the skeleton core of a squad, this journey is going to be ugly, but you have to go through this.

You will find dudes that you love in this era, because you will see some guys with heart ball, and, Flashes of hope.

Don't give up on your team, it is a process, but you have pieces and they could be something.

    Go Cavs! 🎉

  3. I swear on all that is round and pebble-grained, if they do not allow Tre Johnson to shoot the basketball as much as he wants every game, I am going to sue for malpractice.

  4. I ended my monumental Plus subscription. I'm not going to be renewing until I see a better product on the court. I thought this club was supposed to be competing this year

  5. This team is not about talent, it’s about mentality. First, fire BK and bring in a real coach. Second, put a sand clock on the front office. And yes, revisit the Deni trade, how did we give up a 24-year-old All-Star and a cornerstone?

  6. I love how BK is coaching this team of developing young players… we cant judge him on wins or even the product on the court yet. To your point on Tre , these guys have to play and figure it out without it being handed to them on a silver platter… that's obviously his strategy and its working wonders for our guys development… a good question to ask Will Dawkins that I haven't heard asked is whether he thinks the young guys are ahead or behind schedule… when framed that way, I think this season is a huge success thus far… even the games are exciting because you get to see how the young players grow (or struggle) through thier development.

On Bub, he seems to have a people pleasing mentality which leads to trying to be perfect so that everyone "likes him"… its not the same thing as low confidence… im sure the team can potentially support him in that area to help him have thicker skin and embrace failure… kyshawn is a good example of that… last year he missed… A LOT… early in the year but consistently took the same amount of shots every game.. same with CJ this year… Bub shouldn't expect more out of himself than those two guys… hes obviously in his own head and just needs to get back to basics and being who he is while continuing to work on the weaker parts of his game skill wise… perhaps a g league stint wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for him at this point to help him get his groove back while developing his skills without all the pressure he is putting on himself…

  7. I will no longer entertain the notion of Bilal Coulibaly being part of the future of this organization. He can't even stay on the court. Meanwhile, Champagnie, Riley, Watkins, and others are always available and seldom used. That's on Keefe. Dawkins told us minutes had to be earned this season and he was not under duress at the time he made the statement. We're not seeing that.

  8. If you have as many wasted possessions as assists, you're not helping. If you can't make an outside shot and can't take the ball to the rim, you're of limited use.

  9. I always seen Bub as a 6th man, being an offensive hub off the bench. Can we stop trying to force players to be traditional PG’s and just go find one?!

  10. Cham definitely deserves a chance, I mean damn they didn't even play him into like the 6 or 7 game of the year

  11. IND is 1-7. How are we going to keep our draft pick with so many bad teams? IND, BKN, UTA, MEM, NOP, CHA, DAL, are all as bad as they want to be. Maybe 8 games won for the season. Forget about winning. We should go 8-74. Just play Sarr, Tre, Kyshawn, Justin Champagnie, AJ, Will Riley and Jamir Watkins, and bench CJ, Bub and Middleton. Darryn Peterson 2026, WhooSaaa.

  12. Justin C is a winning basketball player. While other players show bad body language, pissy attitudes, and no competitive drive whatsoever, Justin gets after it. BK has managed to make this team worse than last season. Losing is preferred, losing by 30 every night is not. BK has to go for this rebuild to work.

  13. I’m a Wizi fan. I moved down to SEC country. I’ve watched a lot of games … Tank for LaBaron Philon Jr …
