they dont have time to wait, this year is the last pick they own till 2031, so they need to be bad, cause theyre not winning anything this year. This draft class is great on top 5, maybe more..
The last season of this TV show called NBA started with talk of low viewership & the possible cause being too many 3s.
The "trade" happened & that sh*t ended immediately.
Then The Mavs inexplicably got the 1 pick.
Another memory refresh…
Jordan's 1st retirement. Year and a half. He returns to the TV show as the main character & year later Shaq & Kobe arrive at The Lakers at the same time. 95-96.
Jordan retires 2nd time. Phil Jackson takes a year off. Duncan & David wins title. No main character energy tho.
Phil goes to LA. Main character energy for years!
Y'all still like The TV show, right?
You know who Colt Seevers is?
That's Nico in this story.
It's a well done TV show in my opinion with pretty good writers.
I probably won't watch the season finale because the new main character is kinda boring but it's still a well done show.
"survived the trade because they got Cooper Flagg" But they didn't know they were going to get 1st pick until full 4 months after the trade, and chances of getting Cooper Flagg was slim to none. Sounds like they didn't fire him right away because they knew they were going to get Cooper Flagg at time of the trade? 😜🤭🤣
The arena was chanting "Fire Nico" as their own player was at the free throw line needing to make 3 clutch free throws. Thats why Nico was fired, their own fans turned Home Court into a disadvantage
I know that DP IS NOT THAT STUPID OR THE REST OF YOU ARE NOT THAT STUPID- THE NBA IS ENTERTAINMENT AND THE LEAGUE HAS AN INTREST IN THE LAKERS BEING COMPETITIVE, THE NBA TOLD DALLAS TO TRADE LUKA AND THE NBA WILL MAKE SURE THAT DALLAS GETS THE NUMBER 1 PICK AND THEY KNEW COOPER FLAGG WOULD BE IT. THATS THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES SENSE. WHY WOULD U TRADE A 1 IN A GENERATION TALENT THATS 26 YEARS OLD AND JUST TOOK U TO THE FINALS. THE OWNERS AND THE LEAGUE MADE NICO MAKE THIS TRADE!
Damn Dan how much of a bubble do you live in, the people of Dallas have been enraged about this for 10 months to the point where the Mavs streak of sold out games since 2006 ended. People are so unbelievably mad and you ask why they fired Nico? Seriously? Nico had to use emergency fire stairs to escape the arena on a moments notice. Nico can't show his face anywhere in the Dallas area and you want to know why they fired Nico. lol holy shit.
Honestly, why isn't there more heat on Luka? Why did he wait to get until shape until he was traded and lost $100 million? Why didn't he give a crap about Mavericks organization or fans, but instead sat around eating bonbons, drinking beer and going to hookah joints?
I don’t play basketball video games but this trade is like a kid in his room just messing around seeing what’s the worst trade possible that the game will actually allow you to do or NOT but only with cheats or turning off the commish can it be done 😂
I truly don’t think Nico being fired will quiet the fans. It’s more likely they will quietly quit going and give the mavs the excuse they need to leave
It's one thing to trade away Luka without shopping him around to all the teams, it's another thing to trade him for AD, and yet it's STILL WORSE because they should have at least gotten more, either Austin Reeves or… do the Lakers have more picks to trade away?
It's 3x terrible! And incredibly suspicious that they got the no 1 pick with a 1.8% chance.
The allegations that this was rigged with the league office will never go away.
People can say what they want. I saw a picture of Nico looking at Luka on the court after the trade with hate in his eyes. The way Nico looked at Luka, you would've thought Luka either owed him money, shot his shot at Nico's woman, or worse, succeeded. The trade felt personal. Something went down between those two that no one's mentioning. They traded Luka and got nothing for him. "Drafting" Cooper Flagg wasn't enough. Something ain't right.
"Imagine if they had a couple other younger players" – you mean like Austin Reaves? It would still have been a very bad trade, but at least there would be something to work with.
The owner fired him to take the heat off of himself. If Dallas started off and remained hot through the AS break, then the owner would be beating his chest and hailing Harrison as a savvy visionary and the fans would be nodding in agreement and taking to social media about how overrated doncic is.
Why trade a great White player for an old Black player? Why have countless amount of Blacks in every TV commercial? Why was this incompetent Black lady running for President?
The incessant chanting and now theyre not even selling out home games, along with one of the worst records in the league. How much more do you need, Dan?
They did get something out of this. They got the #1 pick in the VERY NEXT draft. That's the NBA for ya. No way they get rid of a generational talent WITHOUT KNOWING they'd get what some call a top tier talent in Flagg. Ownership did the trade. Nico took the blame.
I’m sure Nike would love to have Nico back pitching presentations again. Didn’t he botch the presentation to Steph Curry sending him to UnderArmour? Maybe he’s better off selling basketballs at Dicks.
Well said, DP!! One of the worst trades ever!! This has to rank right up there with the Cowboys-Vikings trade by Jimmy Johnson for RB Herschel Walker for what amounted to a ton of draft picks.
Home games weren't starting to become a distraction… Fans yelling "Fire Nico" when their own team is at the free throw line & attendance is slowly declining!! 🥺🥺

LA needs a new star since leflop is old nba loves their cash grab lakers.
My gut is the 25yr streak of sold out Mav games that ended this week was the kicker. The $$ always is the reason
Nobody wants street clothes Davis

For forgetful viewers, I'll refresh your memory.

Dan Patrick needs to retire what kind of argument is this. You don’t understand it because you’re old af
If Nico proposed the trade to ownership and guaranteed to them this trade will work out, and it doesn’t work out he should be fired.
Because he is an idiot.
is this an actual question or slow day dan
The owner just got panic, that's all…
Cuban has more say than you think Dan
It’s called a fall guy.

Now they’ll have to trade Davis back to LA for Jaxson Hayes.

I think Lebron strong armed the league into doing the trade to get him to LA
I knew something was gonna happen to Nico.
If ad could stay in the court the trade wouldn’t have been that bad but we know ad not playing more then 50 games a year period
If only the NBA head office put as much planning into running the game as they do into fixing it.
This entire segment was a waste of time… Dan negates every statement he makes to defend Nico lol
You want to know why, Dan Patrick? 😂😂😂 no wonder I never watch your show. Maybe do a little creative thinking and you’ll get there.

I just want to thank Nico for all his hard work and wish him well.

The 25 year long ticket sellout streak ended against the Pels on the 4th.
I dont know why it is hard to understand

Because Mavericks fans were one minor inconvenience away from full blown Jihad…
And frankly, are still a long red light away from intifada with this ownership.
Nico the scapegoat. Owners did this.
Home games weren't starting to become a distraction… Fans yelling "Fire Nico" when their own team is at the free throw line & attendance is slowly declining!! 🥺🥺
How could the Mavs let that trade happen when literally everyone agrees it was a stupid trade?
