im taking Jimmy Butler 10/10 times lol. i want a gamer. i very much view his leadership and Dreymond's to be very similar. They dont put up with BS and want to be around people who are gamers, the die hards. The people who might be all-stars but their effort is unquestionable, night in, night out.

he is objectively not a great leader but he’s great at PR and spinning a narrative because yes he seems charismatic and the media loves him for the most part
but in terms of actually leading by example and like Amin said, being able communicate adequately, he has not been the best at and he doesn’t seem to care which is unprofessional and that style of doing things gets really annoying really fast and is the type of shit that can quickly sour a locker room
he’s at a stage in his career where he should just focus on balling out, leave the leadership to the guys who have been the face of that organization for 15+ years

This was an interesting conversation on leadership and interpersonal dynamics in sports. I think Butler is a good leader for some but not all. Leadership like basketball is skill of many layers. Butler’s style of leadership is very “don’t get in the car if you scared😂” and for better OR worse that’s how he leads. GSW has a lot of intense guys so I could see the Heat (no pun intended) cranking up even more bc swapping Klay for JB gotta be a lot different but who knows we don’t know them personally. Either way should be an interesting season!
