Sam Amick doesn’t think this Kings team is capable of a turnaround. Is a rebuild near?

The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Thursday to share his thoughts on the Sacramento Kings’ struggles, give his take on Doug Christie’s scathing postgame interview, lay out what could happen next for the Kings, and much more.

Additionally, Sam expands on Dave’s report from earlier this week, which suggests that Sacramento may enter a rebuild phase in the coming months.

  1. I think we have the talent but the talent does not mesh. Maybe we have to much talent the talent we have does not work together. I think in time Doug will find the right rotation hopefully sooner than later

  2. I honestly like how this is going. I hope they keep it up. Tanking is what they should have been doing for a while. It'll suck if they start winning.

  3. Vivek Ranadivé

History: Has owned the Sacramento Kings since 2013.

Key issues: His tenure has been marked by a high turnover of coaches and executives and the team's failure to make the playoffs during his ownership, states The New York Times.

Criticism: Described as being too involved in decision-making and hiring poor personnel, noted The New York Times.

  4. The Kings will be horrible for the unforeseen future. There simply is no value. Additionally – who would sign here? There is no Disney movie happening here

  5. For Sacramento, if you are going to lose embarrassingly, do it with the young guys starting, developing and growing together, that is what you want to see happening. If they get their butts kicked, at least they are playing together and the bonus is you'll be getting good draft position to add to the young core. The blueprint to developing a young core is now in the top 5, Oklahoma, Detroit, Spurs, Rockets, all those years of losing, playing their young guys, stockpiling on young talents, the blueprint is there. Unfortunately, your coach is so intent on playing the old guys when it is so crystal clear that they cannot get past the big boys in the western conference. If that is the case, why not lose the right way by playing the young guys. There is one team that is currently doing that, they know that they don't have a chance with their main guy out for the season. Imagine this one team getting the #1 pick and their main guy coming back next season, kind of reminds you of the Spurs getting Duncan and Robinson coming back and eventually winning the championship.

  6. I have been a Kings fan for over 25 years. Incan count on 1 hand how many good seasons we have had.
This team has a losing culture. The people who have the power to make all decisions have always been pathetic. (Minus a few years) We all need to stop watching their pathetic games and stop supporting this team until something changes. It is so embarrassing being a Kings fan. Its like being a human punching bag. Is it too much to ask to just not be Pathetic?? So sad.

  7. Honesty Kings need to trade Sabonis. He is not capable of handle ball , score or defense. His job should be only to get rebound.

  8. If the kings were smart they would’ve just extended Keon Ellis for the price of trash Dennis Schroeder. They literally can’t stop making terrible decisions no matter who’s the gm
