  1. This story is a perfect example of brains beating brawn! This idea got Doug Collins canned and Phil Jackson becomes coach! They needed fresh ideas! Brains beats brains!

  2. This is only half the story though… What else was in the Jordan rules??? Foul the $hit outta him. Throw him to to floor… Etc…

  3. Didn't know that Daily's ego was as big as a house 😅 "He didn't like it" because it wasn't his idea 💡. Isaiah was the true leader. 😊

  4. Why didn't the Jordan Rules work in 1991? Three things…
    1. Scottie went from averaging 9ppg and 16ppg in the 1989 and 1990 series to 22ppg 8rpg 5apg 3spg 2bpg. Scottie killed them.
    2. Michael hit the weight room and it showed. He was able to put thru more contact and score. His FG% went up from 46% to 53%. But a lot of that was due to…
    3. They were committed and comfortable with running the triangle so they couldn't just load up on Michael. That's why Michael scored more points on less shots, because more balance in the offense gave MJ and others more clean-ish looks.

  5. When winning meant something, the way you got to next level was internally, couple small free agents but core group and coaching staff had to be better.

  6. That’s elite level adjustments and checking your ego! Zeke, bill, Joe… hell even Dennis.. they just wanted to win! They didn’t care about stats or who got what….

  7. Isaiah Thomas had that IQ bruh cuz them Jordan rules was vicious and basically shut MJ all the way off even though he was still dropping 20 points for those last 3 games but all credit to Zeke that shit worked and the Pistons went on to win a ring !!! 💯✌🏾

  8. If Isaiah didn't use this tactics…they "would not have won the championship" in 89 and 90….Isaiah knew Jordan was a one man wrecking crew…simply UNGUARDABLE

  9. That’s wild that Coach Daly doubted and dismissed it from jump. Zeke and Laimbeer never get credit for creating the Jordan rules. Now they better get their due credit. That’s brilliant strategy. Basketball geography is a beautiful concept.

  10. That's why MJ didn't want Zeke, the best point guard in the league then, on that greatest U.S. Olympics team ever assembled. MJ can be petty that way…

  11. Sometimes you need to lesson to the players Not all coaches if all of them know what cards are deal to them at the spot

  12. beside the fact that they were directly trying to hurt Jordan and for some reason that's ok, destroy his lifes work for the win. If Jordan went out of h is way to hurt a player what then.
