Are you suggesting Kidd who knew nothing about the Luka trade and was against it? Sure, this sounds like a perfect Dumont GM hire.
Dennis Lindsey with Matt Ricarddi as Asst GM grooming him to replace him in 5-10 years is what I would do.
You need someone like Lindsey in negotiations. You have to recoup as many draft capital as possible to retool around Flagg and the rest of our young core. I don't want a new GM with no experience.

I like the idea of Grant Hill. He has connections with those Team USA players, and he would be wiser in managing injured players, since he dealt with it with his own career.
Beside that lone championship with the Raptors a few years ago. Uljiri has no real history of being a successful GM. Dennis Lindsey on the other hand, was instrumental on all those Spurs Championship runs in the late 2000’s AND the Mavs Championship run to the Finals a couple of years ago. THATS A BIG DEAL!!! MULTIPLE years of successful compared to one year sting! Dennis Lindsey for Dallas GM!

Dennis Lindsey is the right choice. He has the experience and has done good things in the past. But this is a major rebuild that needs to happen so I am not sure he wants the job.

I’d rather Kidd be GM than coach. But if reports were true in the offseason, I’d rather have a 1st from the Knicks than Kidd in any role. Coaches are replaceable, that was another horrible miss by the Mavs FO.

What is the thinking here..That since Kidd is awful as a coach, he must be better at the GM role? Anyone is better than Nico, period. Cuban would be a great GM if he was younger. Why don't you make AD the GM. He could probably stay healthy doing that…I think.
