Absolutely dumb to think this team would be in a position to do anything after trading luka, you have 3 aging and often hurt 'star' players in AD, ky and Clay. And this is assuming you 'didnt know' you would be getting the first overall pick and scoring cooper flag. The team was built perfectly for luka. 2 great options at center who can catch lobs all day, a catch and shoot SG in clay, an enforcer 3 and D in PJ, another offensive power house to take the load off of luka in Ky and lots of great bench depth. So fuckin dumb. Its so blatantly clear the NBA forced the trade through with the mavs getting the 1st overall as comp and then try to sell 'win now' to maintain the mavs fanbase and if not move them to vegas or some dumb shit. NBA is a fucking joke and all sports are being ruined by cancerous sports betting. whats even dumber is the lakers are not substantially better with luka. Luka on the mavs = contenders. Luka on the lakers = Maybe second round exit. It like watching the KP years all over again, lots of fire power but not really getting anywhere. All this to make lebron and the lakers something worth talking about. You could have traded kyrie for the measly package the mavs got in return. Fire nico. Cuban please buy back the mavs.
I don't why fans want Nico fired. The damage is done. It wont bring Luka back. Fire him for who? Some average NBA GM?

the Mavs front office went on a power trip. Dallas managers did not like Luka. This was personal, this wasn't strategic. Anti-Doncic managers dragged an inexperienced owner into a their little cult of "fubar".
As a diehard mavs fan and dallas sports fan in general I hate the mavs so much and I never use the word hate. I just cant stand watching them. Who cares if Nico is gone the damage is already done and Nico himself said "I cant see myself doing this longer than 4 years" or whatever he said. He was bought and paid for by the NBA , Nike, and La executives to pair up Luka and Lebron and save the ratings.
i am sure nico will not be gone. Several reasons…because the org will not allow the street to shape the fireings, because the boss and nico are in that together, so the boss cannot fire him, since he supported this, and third, because it looks like this nico is some kind of a mafia guy, that knows everyone and simply can do what ever he wants. He is even protected by some main media streams like that fat guy Brian.
Only fans by cheering for the rest of the season fire nico, can do that. But a lot of fans are just families, that do not care and they just come to watch the show and not the game.
Yeah, me, my family, and my crew are done with the Mavs. I wouldn’t even take courtside seats at this point. The guy’s tone-deaf he clearly doesn’t get that we’d rather lose with Luka than win with anyone else. If he only heard the barbershop talk about how wild and ignorant that move was… and yeah, that goes for Michael Finley too.

I'm always firing Nico but we need to have a talk about Jason Kidd. If a competent head coach was coaching this team, they would not be this bad. Coaches are like cars when they start struggling. It's time to get rid of them

Luka is gone, so it's already too late for Nico to leave. Either bring Luka back or let Nico and the new owners take the team to Vegas on their way out. There is no in-between, it's already too late.
Cuban doesn't get enough blame for selling the team to these people and flat out not caring about the fan reaction to the trade after it happened. When Luka was traded, Mark didn't speak about it for days. This from a guy that never shuts up on social media. And when he did speak on it, he was dismissive. I get that it's not his problem anymore, but if he ever cared about the city then he would've spoke on it immediately.
