Detroit Pistons Win 9th Straight | Can Magic Still Save Their Season?

The Detroit Pistons are rewriting the script on resilience, rattling off nine straight victories despite missing their entire starting lineup including Cade Cunningham, Tobias Harris, and Jalen Duren. Can a team built on depth and grit sustain this momentum through January?

Haize and John break down the Pistons’ improbable winning streak and what it reveals about championship DNA. The discussion shifts to Steph Curry’s 40-point performance against San Antonio, where questionable late-game decisions left Victor Wembanyama underutilized. The Orlando Magic’s offensive stagnation without Paolo Banchero raises concerns about their ceiling, while James Harden’s historic 41-point triple-double powered the Clippers through double overtime against Dallas. Julius Randle’s quietly dominant start with Minnesota emerges as one of the season’s most underrated storylines, with the veteran forward potentially elevating the Timberwolves into Western Conference contender status.

Tune in for expert analysis on which early-season trends will define playoff races and which hot starts will fade by January.

  1. I watched that Spurs/ Warriors game and it reminded me why I love watching the Pistons these days. Their games do not feel like 3 point contests. Probably because they play to their strengths but they also value points in the paint unlike so many other teams. They feel different. I’ve always liked teams that grow together instead of buying Kevin Durant (has every team now bought him for the missing piece?) or other mercenaries. I live in Phoenix via Detroit and I loved the Suns latest finals run. Then they dumped draft picks and bought the usual mercenary and even had they won, it would’ve been way less magical. I don’t understand why teams don’t value draft picks these days. They also undervalue chemistry for wingspan and last year’s superstars at high prices.

  2. I live in Barbados the Caribbean and I've been a pistons fan since 03/04 the Rasheed Wallace era, and it's great to be making noise again de-troit basketball

  3. It’s not unexplainable wind it’s great defense and going 100% each play a lot of teams cant handle the defensive pressure we put in teams. The pistons get teams out of character. When they play the pistons they go overly hard to try to match our toughness then lose their identity while the pistons maintain theirs.

  4. I hate everyone calling it crazy, they should be saying JB Bickerstaff is coach of the year.

  5. The ending of the Spurs game was pretty wild. Golden State played with aggression while the Spurs suddenly shut down. Wemby looked lost or without a plan. It was just wild because the Spurs were whoopin’ them outside of Steph threes, but they sure showed their youth.

  6. I like that y'all didn't edit out the technical difficulties on top. That stuff is fun for me. Even if you didn't mean to leave it in.

  7. The reason why the Pistons are pound for pound the best team in the NBA regardless of the record and standings is because their third string winning against star player's in this league! OKC can't do that ✔

    Depth is King 🤴
