He and his team is in their sweet spot. He scores and gets recognized while the team is loosing. The team is tanking for the future while his trade value goes up.

I agree with all you said about Lauri. However in my critical view of what is happening with the Jazz, the defense is sadly lacking. Teams are lighting up and various players in groups are getting in solid rhythm because the Jazz defense is lacking. When they need a lock down they just don't seem to be able to do it. Instead they look confused, who is supposed to guard who? There is scrambling and sometimes not even that. They are so worried about defensive positioning that they don't pre-read what the other team is about to do many times thus keeping the Jazz defense off kilter and limiting their effect on the opposing team. I can't count how many players recently have had career shooting nights when they played the Jazz. This has to stop if the Jazz expect to win. And it has to start in the front office. Practicing tanking has a long term affect on the rest of the team and that is showing up. You're an absolute fool to tank because the overall cost is a mindset that is difficult to shack out to become a champion.
But yea, Lauri is the bright spot in all of this. The other have potential but are not developed into being able to utilize their talent into more wins.
Another thing to note is that those career high in free throws, is still the lowest among the top scorers in the league. If you care about "ethical scoring", then you'll enjoy him doing it in ways that doesn't require forcing contact, foul baiting, etc. He just uses that size to his advantage and shoots like he knows it's always going in, because it usually is (very efficient). And Jusuf Nurkic is doing a lot for him too. Having a center that sees the field and can make the tough passes helps a guy who doesn't really create his own shot.

NBA only has a defence problem. Markkanen’s 47 points would be 27 points if defence was still allowed in the game. NBA is dead and this is one example of that.
Elite player stuck in a mid team. Ofc his production would drop in a better team but atleast he would have chance to maybe win some playoff games in a real team. Hes already 28yrs old makes no sense to be stuck on a tanking team.
