The Raptors are on pace for 55 wins – Is this REAL or NOT? 😟

By using an incredible amount of data, I’m going to push through all the narrative bias floating around the internet about the Toronto Raptors and just get through to the main question. Are the Raptors legitimately a top 7-8 team in the NBA? Are their stars real stars? Does this team still need to make moves? And more importantly, is their 55 win pace sustainable?

00:00 – The BIG Question
02:25 – Individuals don’t win games
06:40 – K’Nexing basketball
11:45 – Surprising numbers
21:35 – Databallr Lineup Tools
25:40 – Why is winning sustainable?
41:40 – Why winning at this pace is NOT sustainable
48:00 – So what’s the conclusion?

  1. We have a futuristic basketball style…Darko is bringing 2030's basketball to 2025, this will become a case study
It's like a "Snow Storm" offense.

Is there an advanced stat that shows –
"time of possession" (how long their holding the ball) vs "usage,"
I think we are blending that perfectly, and it's confusing teams. Team's have a harder time preparing for it, because we can constantly change styles of play, and they'll be on their heels.

Even the advanced data makes us hard to figure out, and that's perfect.

Also, I think Ja'kobe can be a Khris Middleton level of Allstar.

  2. Apparently Lamelo Ball wants out.. and apparently the Hornets are open to moving him.. Thoughts?

  3. Interesting to see the data back up what I think my eyes are seeing β€” which had me asking are Gradey and Ja’Kobe actually really good together? Throw in Mamu.. and heyyy dynamite bench.

I’m a little hesitant with trade talks involving these guys since one is 21 and the other just turned 22 just today. I really am curious how far they can rise, and if CMB locks in that 3 ball.. wow. That’s nasty a nasty potential three players for future core. If only Mamu were like 7’2, but then we wouldn’t have him of course.

Also team K'Nex for sure. Great analogy!

  4. Bill Simmons watches the Raptors. He just talked about them and gave them a lot of props in his latest video "league pass draft"
