This is the BEST Nuggets Team We’ve EVER Seen

This is the BEST Nuggets Team We’ve EVER Seen

The Denver Nuggets have looked dominant to start this NBA season with Nikola Jokic playing some of his best basketball, Jamal Murray stepping up, Aaron Gordon continuing to improve, and despite Cam Johnson and Christian Braun not living up to expectations. They are setting franchise records, beat their nemesis the Minnesota Timberwolves, and feel like they’re on a collision course with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokic again on a collision course for the MVP award. Even though the Nuggets won the 2023 NBA championship, they’re better now.

  1. Cam is not playing bad at all. He is playing totally sound. His shot isnt falling thats the only thing. The difference between Shai and Joker? Joker will be in the conversation with Wilt MJ Kobe Bron Magic Bird Kareem Shaq Duncan Hakim…. and probably Wemby. Shai was given an MVP he really didnt win and Joker had 2 MVPs taken away which he did win. Joker is the most valuble player on his team by any metric. Shai gets to the line when a cool breeze hits him and so many people factored him going to the line as criteia for his mvp. Shai was more deservimg than Embiid though @ least he won the scoring title. Shai is an outstanding player btw.

  2. Always been a fan of Cone. Despite being the biggest OKC fan on this app, he gives equal and intriguing coverages of the entire league. Way too easy for this guy to talk about Shay and the Thunder because theyre just that good, but talks about the rest of the league with reverence. I can only dream Nuggets meet OKC in the playoffs again just for the commentary

  3. A lot of credit to the coaching staff as well. Denver is pretty set and we can see the emphasis on defense this year. Also, Cam will figure it out, it’s still a + having him on the court for Denver imo

  4. I work at Nuggets,& Avalanche arena,& what we've seen so far this season is beyond belief. Avs have 1 real loss in 18 games,& analytically right now are basically the most dominant NHL team ever. On pace to break the Alltime points record, smash the fewest regulation losses record,& as of 2 days ago had more than doubled up every other team in goal differential. 1st in scoring,& 2nd in goals allowed. And unlike the Nuggets,& OKC-Avs have actually played a tough schedule. Nuggets you mentioned all the analytics-& on pace for like 69/70 wins,& 3rd best net rating ever.(I didn't know that) I do know they really should be 12-0…basically gave away both games they lost.(with help from the refs in Portland). Sure every team will blow some games-OKC should've won in Portland & be undefeated also. However OKC did win back 2 back, double OT games they easily could've lost.Nugs haven't come remotely close to losing any game they won-but have 1 more loss,& few less wins.

But bottom line-I don't expect the AVS to end up with 132 pts or Nuggets 70 wins.Injuries, trade deadline…I don't expect we will have the 2 most dominant winter sports teams of Alltime. But they might have the best chance-at least today on paper-of any arena hosting both the NBA,& NHL Finals I've ever seen this deep into the season. There have been cities where both teams got to the Finals. In 2023 when Nugs beat Miami in the Finals-both the Heat,& Panthers got there(& both lost),& I know the Kings,& Lakers both made the Finals in like early 90s. (I think both of them lost also)But at least in Miami's case-it was a surprise that either team made it that far. Panthers were 8 seed, (then won back 2 back Cups the next 2 seasons) That Lakers team was good,& Kings had Gretzky. But neither was expected to make the Finals-at least definitely not the favorites.

1 bad thing is both teams play in such ridiculously tough brackets. Division in AVS case,(division is more important in hockey unlike the NBA) And in Nuggets case-West is maybe the best conference I've ever seen in my 49 yrs on earth. I know Detroit looks good,& if healthy-Cleveland could be special. But basically the East is a joke,& JV conference.I think there are at least 6 West teams if reasonably healthy -that could win the East or at very least make ECFs.(OKC,Denver,LAL,SA,Minny,& GS) There are no East teams I'd even pick to make WCFs. We MIGHT have 2 Alltime great teams in WCFs & 2nd round of the West might be more competitive than the NBA Finals. If Tatum & Haliburton were healthy it'd be different but they aren't. NHL West isn't close to as dominant in hockey but NHL playoff setup is so stupid-division based,& AVS are in toughest division. Dallas who beat us in game 7 last yr-is on pace for 1 of the best records recently-WEVE LOST 1 OUT OF 18 GAMES BUT TODAY ARE ONLY ESSENTIALLY 1 GAME AHEAD OF THEM! 2 points-& we have played 1 less game but still.

Point is-Nugs might have to beat 2 very good teams to get to WCFs-then face an Alltime great defending champion in WCFs…NBA Finals COULD be our easiest matchup. AVS if the season ended today would face a typical 8 seed but then have to play arguably the 2nd best team,& team-whos made 3 straight WCFs in round 2. And then get a very capable opponent in WCFs,& Finals-but maybe not as good as Dallas. Long ways to go,& so much can change. But right now/today-we have 2 of most dominant regular season teams ever in their respective sports,& MVPs in their primes. Jokic is inarguably the best basketball player on the planet & McKinnon is probably the best hockey player on the planet-right now/today. They've combined for 22-3-5 record,& all 3 REAL losses -they easily could've won. Neither has lost a home game (in regulation…in hockey OT losses are essentially quasi ties).

I consider myself so lucky to get paid to watch these teams,& their Alltime great players for every home game. I've worked 2022 Cup Finals,& 2023 NBA Finals,& saw both teams win titles. But both these teams are potentially better than their versions that won titles within the last 3 yrs. That doesn't mean they'll win again-it doesn't mean anything for the playoffs except this could potentially be a very fun spring,& summer at Ball arena. If both could make WCFs-then we go from there,& see what happens-that would unbelievable alone. But as of today-they have to be the most dominant combo of NHL,& NBA teams ever…IN MID NOVEMBER…which is the huge caveat.

  5. the dedication AG has shown in improving his game is amazing and so key to our success. I love the guy and he is our true #2. I hope Joker and AG are teammates for the remainder of their careers

  6. People need to stop saying okc denver is lock for the conference finals, since 2018 there hasnt been a single time where the clear cut out 2 best teams met in the wcf

  7. Every team keeps hunting our sg and sam merrill and it seems like we keep foul8ng a lot and playins sloppy defense – talking about cavs

  8. I think it’s about time that people start discussing how dirty the nuggets play. It used to just be elbows and shoves sometimes since their championship year, but this season I’ve seen sooooo much sneaky physical play. I don’t understand why nobody is pointing it out

  9. That krypton garbage is way exaggerated threebof those previous losses Denver played on back to back also had three key injured players yet stupid arrogant hypocrites will ALWAYS!!! leave out those key facts!! To make deceptive Points !!! In the playoffs denver has beaten Minnesota 7 -5 so Denver has the upper hand "" also okcs defense is NOT!!!! the best ever stop the bs

  10. Theres tons of teams in history who are way better on historical defense way too many i can nams young people have never lived in the 70"s 80"s 90"s and early 2000,"s

  11. camn johnson isn't "playing terrible"… he is playing FANTASTIC and missing one extra shot per game that he should make…. people like you are the ones that are going to get in his head and mess him up…. he is in the right spots all the time, cuts, passes, DEFENDS, he is fitting in perfectly… he looks like he's been playing a full season with jokic

    you are way off

  12. This Nuggets team has grit, something they haven't had since they won. You cannot bully Jonas, Jokic, Brown, and AG they will get into it.

  13. I’m kinda stoked they don’t play OKC til February. The buildup is gonna be insane. The game i’m lasered on is Denver v Houston. I think we may match up poorly with Houston…

  14. "Thunder defense is unhuman and the best we've ever seen" lol Gen Z boy obviously never watched the 2004-2006 Detroit Pistons. Teams couldn't even score 70 points against them on daily basis. Defense barely exists in the modern NBA.

  15. They did it last night vs. The Timberpups while down two of their starters! AND an injured Jokić that was not in attack mode yet put up a 27/12/11 triple double!

Tons I wanna add in but I won't. The only thing I'll add with stat. AG turned himself into a shooter in one off-season to us. He is the only player in NBA history to have ever increased his 3pt% and FT% by at LEAST 10 percentage points of more and he improved both of them before last years season atarted by over 15% let al9ne 10%. Going from a liability at both to a knock down shooter now. But most people until at lesst the other night when they finally showed it on the national broadcast, that he built his place in Denver out of a huge building that he converted into a loft style house complete with full size basketball court and professional equipment along with hot and cold tubs. He parks his car in there and he lives on the court now….LITERALLY. I'm glad you pointed out his improved shooting because not it is still very under appreciated just how fast he was able to do what he did but also that he was willing to come to Denver as THE GUY in Orlando for years and like the best Nuggets, listen to what our coaching wants from you and say "ok bet." And just be THAT guy! And Aaron Gordon has done that from day one. That goes for most of the squad down to TH2 that just arrived, but AG was just instantly not only impactful, but his attitude and energy he brought to the culture of the current squad on and off of the court has made him not only an instant leader who saw from Jokić just how hard he works and also said "If the big man can do it, The rest of us can too. Bet." And became just as hard of a worker as Jokić which leads by example and not just by voice. But then off the court had traveled to Serbia many times and is always seen with the guys or at events no matter where they are to support them. After the championship, he came out and walked the streets with the fans downtown even! Not a lot of people know that nut also nobody does that! AG did and he was instantly loved and treated with respect that night as he became what we call "Mr. Nugget" which is just like the guy that personifies the nuggets and what it is to ve a nugget the most. Usually not given to the star of the team but the glue guy. The guy everyone on the team and every fan loves. And this year, bringing Brucey B back has almost made it so we have AG as Governer Nugget and Bruce as Mayor Nugget..lol. But thanks again on shining a light on AG!

The rest of the additions, points, corrections or criticism I'll just leave be as I enjoyed this video a lot! Great work! Sucks we gotta way til Feb to see them vs OKC, but oh well. Take care & God bless! ✌️

  16. as a HOU fan (KD follower)., its safe to say OKC and DEN are in a tier of their own this year. the championship will be decided between both and if both fully healthy, id give the edge to whoever gets homecourt advantage in a 7 game series (so yes, it would go 7 again)

  17. I don't like this over hyping of the Nuggets at all. Is it a good sign that they're looking this good? Yes. Is it realistic they will keep close to a +13 net rating over the entire season (the highest of all time)? No. I don't want to hear about the Nuggets being second in defensive rating again until we had like 40 games. Ratings don't make any sense until you had a larger sample size, 11 games in there is just too much noise. Don't use advanced stats like unless you have the full sample size.

  18. Love the video, id just add that Aaron Gordon is much more than a “solid” defender. During the Nuggets championship run he successfully guarded an insane list of the opponents’ best players.

  19. Come on man. Jokic is a great defensive player. People need to realize that by now. You don’t have to be a big time shot blocker to be a good defender. You should recognize that.
