    I wonder if Dalano Banton might have been valuable compared to some of the current reserves. He might have made a 2 game win difference this trip. Oh well maybe there won’t be any more injuries in the back court this year.

    Blazers don't have a good defense. At best, we have a disruptive defense. The average amount of turnovers in NBA is probably around 12-15 a game. At the start of the season, we were forcing 20+ turnovers. That obviously isn't sustainable. Whenever we only manage to force an average or below average amount of turnovers, that's when we're going to struggle or get beaten down. So without a lockdown defense, even with Dame back, we're still going to get sliced through just Swiss cheese.

    its funny how u describe so many of Deni's mistakes, yet u fail to mention Sharp's 600 shot attemps. the man had 36 points only because he hogs the ball, never passes to anyone else, shoots it 33% of the team's overall shots.

    I really hate Tiago's timeout philosophy. It's like he wants to go home early so he doesn't use them.
    This game begged taking 1 or more timeouts down the stretch to set the tone and organize the play.
    Makes me kinda miss Chauncey, I feel like the team was finally going in a good direction under his guidance.

    If Sharpe takes 30 plus shoots its gg . His efficiency is worse than Westbrook . Deni had uncharacteristic bad shoot selection at the end of the game . Its a fact sadly. Bad the reason they lose all last games is that Sharp thinks he is a shooter, he is not . I dont agree team needs him to shoot so much, specifically bad shoots. Almost any other player on the team is more efficient.

    Real problems
    1. Coach didn't take TO before the final position.
    2. Coach doesn't control the players. Sharpe takes 32 shots at horrible efficiency. bad shot selection. and those he made are of Avdija assists. or other people working for him. when he shoot around 12-15 we win more we lose. thats shot selection. *his D got better personally.
    3. no boxout. players working for their own numbers and the offense gets the rebounds and trailer points.
    4. almost no one is working to make Avdija life easier but DC and Holiday. he gets tired late in the game.
    5. Many times Avdija pass when he needs to shoot and that leads to not as good shot as he had and later he force some shots that miraculously goes in in ok rate but thats also part of no coaching.
    TS has nice offensive tactics but he lost control.
    6. getting the right shot – DC shouldn't shoot so many 3s. that shows we get what we get and not what we want.
    7. Avdija has too many naive T/O.
    8. we are not allowed to the same physicality as the other team is. refs seems to be quick on the whistle with our soft faults. and not so quick while Avdija or DC or JG gets beaten.
    without Holiday the offense is totally depends on Avdija. problem.
    All in All Avdija is an Allstar level can be a second option in a contender. Sharp is very talented when going to the rim but he needs to be managed and used properly. everyone needs to play together on the defensive side. they played for each other at the start of the season. it worked better.

    Unfortunately Portland is not good enough to be missing 5 rotation players including all 4 point guards. If we are playing Love and Cisoko rotation minutes we are in trouble. I realize Dame is out for the year but still a roster spot. We are still in position to make the playoffs because it's early. Just need to get healthy because we aren't good enough yet to have this many people out especially with the style of play we play.

    Y'all Sharpe bashers need to chill. Deni is our best player right now. When Deni was 22 he wasn't what Shaedon is right now. These two players are the closest to untouchable on this roster and both will get even better, more efficient. Deni is much closer to his ceiling though. Blazers are in good position. No one expected a deep playoff run this year. Getting close though. Patience my friends.

    Splitter has been horrendous as the head coach, worse defense, 0 offensive sets, challenges wrong plays every single game, HORRIBLE rotations. Some of the lineups out there consist of 3/5 players who shouldn't be on an NBA team. Hire Malone, Call up Dillon Jones and pray Scoot returns soon.

    This team is not good..Too bad Dame is out for the season…Watching the Blazers this season even they beat teams like the Lakers the Nuggets OKC or Golden State their best player is not on the floor Damian Lillard and thats important for the team success in the future…

    Sharpe is shooting 50% from the field over the last 8 games. He had a bad start to the season and now Deni Stans use him as a scapegoat for everything.

    It’s a team sport, the takes in here are the most biased lame stan takes I’ve seen. I see better takes from Blazers twitter🤣

    If anyone is looking around the roster for scapegoats, remember that success is not only measured in terms of Ws. The fact that we are no longer averaging losses by 20+ points is a HUGE improvement. The fact that Steve Kerr and Anthony Edwards went out of their way to praise this team, is also huge. Just about every game has been a coin toss and when that's the case, we leave our fate to the refs.
    There are steps to success and we are taking them.

    Winning close games on the road is the sign of a good team. With better defense in crunch time they could have had a 3-2 record or better. With pace, especially in Miami, they couldn't get back or get set up. The lane was wide open. This show talked about those challenges on defense much better than I ever could. Pace is key to their offense, but there needs to be a better balance.

    The lottery will have a lot of talent available this year. Hopefully the new owner finds his own GM to replace Cronin and they make the right pick. They cannot afford another project pick in the lottery

    Seeing a trend in not getting back on defense, so giving up way too many gimmes. Also, with the lack of guards the defense has taken a big hit- asking the bigs to pressure and then also rebound. Not sure what Deni was thinking with that step back 3- maybe visions of a Dame winner.

    All of you guys trashing Sharpe clearly have no idea what you're watching. Since getting off the injury report and minutes restriction, Sharpe's shot selection has been WAY better. He doesn't even need a good 3 ball to be good, as long as he continues to attack the rim early & often like he has been for these past 4 healthy games. Last night, he simply had an off night at the rim. Sharpe is a VERY good finisher at the rim & just had a lot of layups uncharacteristicly rim off. Even with last night included, over the last 4 games where he's been fully healthy & attacking the rim, these are his stats –

    30.3 PPG, 5.5 RPG & 3.3 APG with 52.4/34.6/72.7 shooting splits & 61.4% TS.

    Those shooting splits aren't even all that great (but also not bad), but 61.4% TS is well above league average for an NBA SG right now (57.7% TS).

    Off nights included, Sharpe is 1 of the best finisher's in the league. If he continues to attack the rim early & often like this & get to the line, he absolutely WILL have a breakout season this year. Sharpe's main issue has always been his shot selection, not playing to his strengths. Too much 3 ball hunting instead of doing what he does best. He actually doesn't NEED a good 3 ball to score efficiently. Just attack the rim & get to the line (8.3 FT APG in his last 4 games).

    If he goes back to chucking a gang of 3's instead of attacking the rim, he will fail. If he keeps this aggressive trend up though, you will all eat your words. With this style of play, his floor is like a prime DeAaron Fox caliber player with a ceiling that is much higher. Guys like D Rose & Westbrook didn't need a 3 ball, because they could get to the rim & the FT line. As long as Sharpe realizes this, which it seems he's beginning to imo, he will be just fine to say the least.

    I'm confused as to why people are down on Yang 'The Big Tarriff' Hanson, he barely got one toe in the water an they benched him. Unfair to say he wasn't good enough. He's killing it on the remix. It's not like DC is setting the world on fire

    That shot attempt was peak sketchy. Maybe it's a cry for help, take me off that 1-2 duty. He has impressive ball handling skills for his size and position, but he is not a primary ball handler. Blazers desperately need Scoot back.

    So there are certainly realitles the Blazers need to face. First they are not near the caliber of the Rockets, Second they can be beat by any team in which they are outplayed and out coached as evidenced by the Dallas loss. Third they've lost their defensive mindset as they are not disrupting how teams play. I'm not sure Splitter wants to emphasize D as much as Chauncey would have.
