  1. Sengun and Kevin Durant are not a duo YET. We need more time for these to to adjust their rhythm to each other.

  2. Everyone could see how talented Reed is, but when he plays with low confidence, he struggles to contribute. He especially seems to be afraid of the ball at times. I think we should thank the coach and the players for helping him. KD's post on Instagram, sharing Reed, really had a positive impact on his confidence

  3. Please show me a single player who did it by themselve? No one.

Just spare him the blasphemy and enjoy his game.

  4. I watch way too many rockets podcasts, but you two are my favorite combo. I love Jackson, Ben, Will and Brad, etc.
I'm so excited for a good Rockets team. I'm 41,I was 9-11 years old when dream went back to back. I always felt harden wouldn't lead us to a ship. This team felt different till fvv injury.

  5. KD is definitely a floor raiser he’s not just a scorer. He’s avg 5/6 ast majority of career. For somebody he avgs 27 that’s above average. KD carries a lot he’s just had bad teammates

  6. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Amen catch a lob from Sengun when he’s in the dunker spot. That’s where Amen got most of his buckets last year. Having Reed at PG can change that in the lineup.

  7. Reed can be a good shooter but he is definitely a big defensive liability currently. I hope he improves in that aspect of his game.

  8. Frank I need you to drop more vids man, you are by far the best at analyzing Rockets ball, other creators don't go into this much detail.

  9. Evan Mobley is nowhere near Alpi. It is impossible to compare them. Difference is like day and night. It is so much fun to watch Alpi. I cannot say the same for Mobley. I do not remember him doing any fancy footwork either.

  10. Once the KD era ends, need to check in on Minnesota and Ant's situation. Ant would be awesome on the Rockets

  11. KD isn't the floor raiser LeBron is but he definitely does lift the floor.
No star player in the past 4 seasons has had more of a % difference when he plays vs when he doesn't.
If you check it, it's probably around a 40% win percentage difference.
At least I know for 3 seasons it was basically going from .340 to .570

The nets were a 30 win team when he didn't play. Even when Kyrie was playing the nets had like a 1:2 win and loss ratio if KD didn't play. WhenKD layed they were a 50-55 win team and that included when Kyrie wasn't playing.

The sun's were 3-17 without him last season and the first season when they trade for KD he didn't play at the beginning and the sun's also went like 5-13.

When he played in OKC without Westbrook he showed it for the first time.

I do agree that KD is more suitable as a ceiling raiser but very few players actually provide a better floor than KD

  12. What's amazing is that I have never felt this season like any of these comebacks are a fake comeback. We used to feel that constantly with games the last few seasons. Now anytime we're down, I'm just waiting in anticipation for when our run is going to happen, like it's 100% guaranteed.

  13. Thank y'all for seeing the Amen-Reed vision. I been saying this. Reed has great passing instincts. Him mostly running the offense allows Amen to be at his best roaming.

  14. Trust the analytics, the Double Big 2-3 zone WORKS and impacts not just historically elite rebounding but actual winning. Rockets are #1 in offense right now. But losing Tari will be Rockets biggest adjustment, especially if majority of the replacement minutes are coming from Aaron Holiday. When is DFS actually going to play? If he is out for months, then Rockets need to consider signing another long spacing weakside rim protector. Someone like Bol Bol could be interesting in Ime's 2-3 zone defense. Speaking of development, sign 7 foot 2 way spacer Ulrich Chomche to the Vipers, this is the kind of upside long term cheap signings that Stone needs to continue making because this roster is going to be pricey in next few seasons. Sign Isaac Bongo next offseason too.

And while Amen did not have his best game vs ORL to say he is struggling is an overreaction. Amen is averaging more points than Fred did last season and Fred is former champion and former Allstar PG. These expectations for Amen are not realistic, especially for a 3rd year player playing a new position.

Amen (and Reed) will be just fine, trust in Ime. This team is still learning each other and still working on their chemistry, THEIR BEST IS YET TO COME.

  15. great episode. Most details are in chop shop for rockets at alll of yt probably. Along with what you guys said the bring the ball up duty when given Reed or even Amen they both started to look for theirs lost 6 sec and then give the bomb to Sengun or Kd. Udoka simplified for them and now Amen dont make decisions. Taking those decisions when its not second nature cognitively loads up and its way harder then it looks when you are pressured while bringing the ball up.

For reed alogn with adjusting his role changed actaully. When he doesnt make primary action deicision and just shoot or pass he looks way more clean. Either take screen and middie, take 3pt or pass. If you say to him go create something like beginning of the season speed of the game is too fast he just dont have it. Being able to do skip pass not equal to can generate plays. Since we watch Sengun that much it starts to look easy but that skill set is lacking in volume + under pressure.

Another deatil imo is Amen can bring the ball better than Reed because he uses his size for ball security easier, faster first step etc. Reed legit struggles everytime he tries. Maybe with Adams pick and against bench of other teams he need in game reps. Amen definitly looks tired and I doubt its about physicality bro tries to adjust being starter + new duties in new setup. Our defensive rebounding and fast break points worse which affects Amen getting rhthm cause of the zone etc too mcuh change for him to process. He is not that half court player in the end.
