I would not trade a top 5 pick. I would trade the top 10 pick back for more future picks.

Now think about the punishment he deserves for this and what that would do to the 2027 pick.

2026 offseason: After winning their second CHIP, OKC is going to move on from Hartenstein, Kendrich Williams, and Dieng to get under the 2nd apron and fill out their roster with 3 guys from the upcoming draft. Thomas Sorber or one of the new rookies will be the replacement for Ihart. That means they will lose only 1 primary rotation player from their top 12 in 2026. They also can at anytime flip a role player or a pick for more future firsts. The Thunder are an absolute WAGON and the NBA is cooked.
I'll just say that it's a MUCH bigger deal if OKC gets a top 5 pick in 2026 than in 2027. There might legitimately be 7-8 franchise players in the 2026 draft. I'm not sure there's a single one in the 2027 draft. Obviously, you could always have your surprise superstar like Giannis in 2013. But stumbling onto that player will probably be a matter of luck. In the 2026 draft, you could almost throw a dart at the top 10 and walk away with an All-Star. As you know, I follow college basketball closely and this may be the best freshman class I've ever seen in 40 years of watching.
I think the controversial moves will be minimal with the OKC for a while since Sam Presti has proven himself above and beyond by building 2 different teams that were title contenders and one that brought a title home to OKC.

Sorry to say, but okc is making the nba boring. Unless we just focus on the competition to be one of the last two teams in the playoffs. If okc doesn't win the championship then that'll just be stupid. They are, open and shut case, the best team.
