Reed is our starting PG even when FVV comes back healthy.
I might be the 1st guy to say this but i would rather Holiday to start. Okogie comes off the bench. Keep Reed aggressive coming off the bench but late 4th quarter Reed would finish the game. Holiday 3ball is falling, solid on ball D, and solid with ball in hands facing pressure.
I think Reed and Amen as the backcourt works, and I don’t think it’s necessary to over-define their roles; Amen as the lead while a break or secondary break is on the table is great, if it gets into the halfcourt give it to Reed. Operate through Alpi a lot. There are two kinds of ways teams beat other teams; teams that beat you by playing their game and teams that can beat you playing your game, w/e that is, night to night, and the second is more portable, but much harder to do. I think we have the guys to do it.
I’m not sure Ime is a natural fit for this offensively, though I think he looks at it this way defensively. Also Pop disciples tend to think system first, talent second, and I am more of the adjust to the talent school, but Ime has already been more flexible (Fred’s injury kinda forced his hand) with zone, double bigs, etc. than I’d have expected. So on D he has adjusted.
But if we can get him looking at it that way at both ends, I think we have the potential for greatness.
The reason Amen looks bad is because people tend to just remember when he dribbles into traffic, loses the ball, or misses a wide open shot. People tend to take those images with them but not the defense on the best player on the other team and holding them to poor numbers, he also blocks and steals well, he also snags boards, he hustles and wins 5050s a lot. Right now Amen is the third best player on the floor in terms of helping the team flow and come back from deficits, and going on runs and killing momentum for the other team. The best player on the squad is Alp, then Reed, Then Thompson, then KD since hes been out his numbers took a small divot but tbh Alp, Reed, and Amen are the HIMs of the squad. They make the rockets go. Sengun struggles when the lights are brightest. Reed and Amen dont seem to have that problem. Amen plays the same, and Reed plays better when the lights are bright. Sengun's gravity and passing playmaking and defensive instincts in the paint are his biggest strengths. If Alp wants to be a hall of famer he needs to get a consistent jumper and switch his technique from the slowmingo. He also needs to make his decisions and get into his moves quicker sometimes and be able to counter when they take away the passing lanes and youre not getting the calls. ALP has to do better vs the best teams like Denver, Okc, or even healthy warriors. Reed can do it Amen can also do it now we just need Sengun to get better. Once Sengun and Amen get a consistent Jumper were gonna be dangerously lethal like venom neurotoxin lethal. If those two could shoot we would whip Denvers and OKCs ass.
I think right now Reed should stay off the bench due to rotations and having someone out there that can put the ball in the whole other than Alp. If KD and Bari are in the game we need either Reed or Alp to go with them. But you cannot sit Reed and Alp at the same time which means you really cant play them both at the same time. The mosquito backcourt is great I want to see Holiday and Reed more together.
how about that dish reed threw to amen towards the end. 😯
Yeah he took 25 shots but made 12 for about 49% shooting!!.,
On-ball Amen means there's no off-ball Amen. And off-ball Amen is amazing.
Hopeful of players will stay and sign long term and fit into the salary structure: hopefully Reed and Amen. I'm so glad Jabari and Sengun signed for less than the max. Let's see how long okc can last once all of sga, chet, and j will are all on their maxes. They won't have room for depth. Hopefully the rockets will.
I know i should enjoy now. But I always look long term.
at 16.35 thank you – surviving on defence – so important – helped by rockets scheme – this was the question not his offence
Roosh was on fire in this podcast episode. The guy's analysis, player and team breakdowns are so good and spot on. It was like I was listening to basketball ASMR.
The team has just looked less shaky whenever holiday is on the court. I know it's almost impossible to find him a starting position but I still do not like Amen at guard. I'd like to be proven wrong but he just struggles there. Reed is great but he's not really a point guard, he's more of a shooting guard. I don't know, it's confusing. Reed keeps surprising me so maybe he can just run the point. I'm not sure why he said Reed is the only guard that can run pick and roll. Holiday can. He just doesn't have great passing but his ball security is amazing.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Jalen had athleticism but lacked IQ and never improved. Reed is doing in his 2nd year what Jalen hasn't figured out in all 4 years.
KD and Sengun need to play fewer minutes! Reed should get those reps
Reed game is a mix of CP3,CURRY&KOBE🤔
The missing pieces Adams, Tari, KD, DFS and FVV make a pretty good starting five for a lot of teams in the nba 😂
Roost got a fetish with JG, let him be bro. He’s gone already
Once Reed get how to draw fouls his game will open even more
Aaron Holiday is like a 6 foot tall MPJ. He’s very beneficial as long as his only decision is to shoot.
Shades of LINSANITY…
