The real question is why Denver keeps running the offense thru Jokic when they can't compete for a title in years. Yet they assume like his fans that its always his teammates fault. When he is the one that controls the offense with the highest usage

Thunder are currently a historic team right now. The box plus and minus has their players at the top, only Jokic even ranks there at 2nd. When your whole team is on another level, how much does SGA’s impact affect his team overall?
Points are more equated to shots taken. Regardless of minutes played SGA takes 2.5 more shots per game…..so that points per game dissappears when you equal that out. This award being given to someone who "scores more points" devalue what valuable means.

Sitting out nine 4th quarters just proves that the Thunder are as deep as just about any team in NBA history. We already have an award for the best team: a championship. What Jokic is doing is unprecedented. Is there any question that Jokic is the most valuable player to his team? None whatsoever, and he's undeniably the best player in the world. If you put another superstar that is also ball dominant on the nuggets. Jokic's assist & points would be cut in half at the very least. The one man offense that Luka & Jokic use is designed to make them the quarterback of the team, getting all the numbers would be relatively easy. Harden ran the same system with the rockets, his stats went thru the roof, he went from being an all star to superstar overnight. That same system made Jeremy Lin an unknown bench warmer into a star. Now if jokic can win a title playing that one man offense. Then he without a question deserves all the flowers, Mvps & even goat status. Horrible take by Rachel. First, Shai is definitely going 1:1 in any draft of current players. Second, based on her theory, the MVP should just be given before the season starts if it is “who would I draft first.” So stupid.
