The Cavaliers Have Been VERY Disappointing

The Cleveland Cavaliers came into the season as one of the favorites to win the NBA title but haven’t lived up to expectations. Donovan Mitchell has been awesome but Evan Mobley hasn’t jumped, Darius Garland hasn’t played much, and the team is middle of the pack in the East. Teams like the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, and others are figuring it out, and the Cavs haven’t been bad, but they feel underwhelming and not like the threat to the Oklahoma City Thunder they could be.

  1. You’re being over dramatic it’s only been a month in the season so the Cavs got time to get it together and Mobley is only 24 yrs old so he can still get better

  2. As a basketball fan and constant viewer on YouTube, it's always good to know that you always have a video of every single day every morning. As an adult, it becomes tiring to try to keep up with every single game. Thank you bro keep up the good work 💪🏾👍🏾

  3. One thing I've learned over my years of watching sports is that you can't go into a season thinking you know how things are gonna go down. The whole philosophy of judging a team based on their prior season is folly. Many projections fail to account for a multitude of factors. A big one is just the natural growth of other teams. Teams change every year. Whether through trades free agency or picks. We've seen really good teams suddenly fall off, and we've seen really bad teams suddenly take off. Not saying that projections should be scrapped altogether or that they're inherently bad. It just seems that everybody hangs onto those projections and predictions way too hard. Yes, it helps give you a general expectation, but that's all it is, an expectation. Expectations change. Constantly. Some teams won't meet those expectations, and others will exceed expectations. It's a lot like statistics and clinging hard to pure analytics. Yes, the analytics are helpful, but so is the eye test. So are the intangibles of a game. There is a lot of nuance in basketball yet people try so hard to be literal with it.

  4. Cavs never been a real contender, the people who fell in love with them when they 1st started playing well got fooled and y'all keep getting fooled lol smh. They will never win a championship with Donovan and Garland and Mobley. They need to trade one of those small guards

  5. Evan Mobley is overrated. His defence tanks when Jarrett Allen isn't around. He has never been depended upon to create his own offence. He's basically 4th or 5th option on offence.

  6. The only situation I see working with Mitchell is that Jrue Holiday is at the 1. Having weak D at the perimeter is never going to win a championship. If Dame makes it back I might be able to see the ultimate backcourt with him and Jru, Mitchell would be even better with a true defensive oversized PG.

  7. Not been defensive focused since they got rid of lauri markkanen….thats when they were scary for the future …it plateaued since , is what it is

  8. Last season folks were saying that the Cavs’ winning all those games during the regular season didn’t matter. This was mainly coming from the media, who said that only the playoffs matter. Now that the Cavs aren’t in first place, people are having a meltdown. Can’t have it both ways.

  9. it’s still early i think. but i understand completely why you say this. i thought they’d be where detroit is right now. still only 19-20 games in the season tho and the eastern conference is a lot better than i thought it would be.

  10. Crazy. Watcing this after Donovan Mitchell had to drop a 40-piece RESULTING IN A LOSS. Cavs were pretty healthy too. No Trae Young they really have no excuse, just dirty.

  11. As a cavs fan I was worried going into the season.

They had a bunch of wins last year that were basically due to ty Jerome going off.

The record we see now is kind of where the cavs would have been without Jerome last year. Its not disappointing its just the teams actual reality

  12. The Cavs getting rid of Jerome was so jarring to see as what he brought for security and genuine great role player for essentially nothing and Mobley and Allen are just soft asf it’s sad because I genuinely believed in them the last 2 years. Hope Spider gets on a competent team in the playoffs eventually

  13. I appreciate the support Cone. I didn't think they would be better this season which I'm not mad I'm just disappointed but it is what it is if this is the result of what they worked hard to build then I'll say it's at least one of the most successful teams since LeBron's second departure. We'll see we still got the rest of the season left but with this current situation they're due for another 1st round exit against another confident hungry team. Ironic if it were to be the Heat again 😂 they'll definitely want another crack at us.

  14. Last year's Cavs reminded me of that Hawks team from a few years ago where they won 60 something games, had a bunch of all stars but no one outside of their home city really thought they were a title contender. That Hawks team came back to earth the next season and the Cavs are doing the same. I don't think anyone is going to remember the 2024-25 Cavs as one of the greatest ever unless you're a Cavs fan. Even before the Pacers went on that playoff run i couldn't see the Cavs beating even the Celtics before the Celtics themselves stumbled in the playoffs

  15. i dont know why NBA media collectively decided this year that Evan Mobley was gonna turn into prime KG & be the greatest player in history but it’s satisfying seeing that NOT happen (yes im hating)

  16. Evan Mobley will never be that guy and hes never showed signs of being anything more than an elite roleplayer. Well now they've essentially built around him with Garland as the lead playmaker and Allen for double big. So now that they actually have to depend on him for wins and increase his load, its leading to losses. He is the issue considering his defense is also mediocre this year and they've invested so much into him.

  17. Bro, they need a trade Garland he’s genuinely washed, How are you a point guard averaging 13 points on 35% shooting 😭

  18. I thought Mobley was gonna be that guy and improve too. I think they lost their win streak last year the one game he was out, which solidified that for me

  19. I just think this shows how much this team relies on their guard duo. Without Garland they don’t look amazing, and I’ve never understood the Mobley superstar hype.

  20. Evan Mobley is just another Bam Adebayo. But Bam is more versatile, Mobley is more talented, but his offense hasn't grown. They are not scorers

  21. Atkinson must be called into question. Cavs lack physicality, offense is limited to chucking 3's, no improvement from bigs, defense is pathetic, and there's energy lacking. Atkinson is not delivering…

  22. I’m really not worried right now last season. We started off hot with no injuries towards the end of season half the team was hurt which led to our downfall. I rather start out hurt and get stronger towards the middle of the season right now. We are letting a lot of deeper bench players a lot of minutes, which is helping our progressionhelping our death become more comfortable. I think the cat are in a good spot.

  23. We just need more time and better health. If we had to trade someone I say Darius and Dean Wade. We need more Tomlin minutes and Evan todo more Iso and get more looks for 3

  24. I have been so impressed by how well the Spurs have been playing without two of their top scorers and best players in Wemby and Castle.

    GSG!
