Golden State Warriors Live Around The Rim In Win Over Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors avoided disaster, overcoming a horrific 1-19 three-point shooting start to eventually take down the New Orleans Pelicans 104-96. Jimmy Butler and Gary Payton II were crucial in the win, but what most impressed? Chuck Walter and Matt Kolsky break it down.

  1. Now your talking about my guy GP2. Instead of commending him the last time they won, you called to reduce his minutes for Will Richard. I love Will, but they can coexist for me.

  2. warriors would never fully punt the OKC game in this case, because they want to see how they stack up at full effort. gives them more data for changes ahead.

  3. I agree lol. Rest Jimmy. Rest Draymond. Rest Horford. Run all the young guys. Give JK the greenest of green lights. Let Buddy shoot through whatever’s wrong with him. Let Moses get some practice guarding SGA. And we’ll see what happens.

  4. Never led 10 points until the end of 4th quarter against the worst record team in the west without their 3 starters.
The best part of the game to me was Trey Murphy talking friendly with Looney as if that has a meaning for our trade talks!!!

  5. First podcast with the host's woman laying in bed in the background! She might join the podcast, or go to sleep!

  6. PG: Podz 6'4"
    SG: Hield 6'4"
    SF: Richard 6'3"
    PF: GP2 6'3"
    C: Kuminga 6'7"
You're telling me the coach is not the issue….? Tell me another coach that would put out that kind of lineup?

  7. KUMINGA FOR CENTER?? imagine if they lose this game what these dudes will say about it😂 they won so it was okay for KUMINGA to be the center😂 c'mon now dudes!! Anyway chuck i think your lady is waiting for u😅 sign off!!

  8. Kerr ran Jimmy and fucking Kuminga at center in that abomination of a first quarter. He's trolling us at this point. At least his brain dead coaching finally got us over the line with a depleted bottom dwelling team. Glass half full, I guess.

  9. Draymond Green doesn't deserve 1st Ballot HOF

Without Stephen Curry he never would have been an all star and likely would have been SUSPENDED a lot more!!!

  10. Swap out Buddy for Neon Keon. Swap out JK for Zubac. Don't run Butler into the wood floor, body bags. Don Nelson, ghost of the past 😱

  11. Every win for an NBA team where the the team does not suffer a serious injury to one of their players is simply a great win. The Warriors need this type of output from Gary Payton II and they need to play to play Jackson-Davis for inside scoring which would help open up spots for 3-point shots. Now Kerr needs to play his big athletic players, like Kuminga, Jackson-Davis and GPII, he plays like a big man, against OKC because THEY NEED THEIR HOME WINS!

  12. "dont start jimmy butler against the thunder" might be the most galaxy brained take ive heard in a second. Dude its a national game and they need to figure out the offense without steph, even if they lose. they cant afford to punt games like that when they are still figuring stuff out, even if you think theyre doomed. also this is my favorite couples podcast

  13. These Warriors are not good enough to compete in the playoffs. If they can’t flip JK for a quality NBA starter in the front court, it’s probably time to blow it up. The Warriors should take whatever draft capital they can get for JK, ship out Buttler and just move on.

  14. The reason for practice is to re-inforce habits/style/system. How often do you think they practice life without Steph? He is the center of the Warriors' solar system. How many times have for instance JK or others been yanked for looking off Steph? How much do they practice life without Steph?
And how often does that philosophy lead to Steph getting the ball in the last 5 or 6 seconds of the shot clock? Why? Because opponents know that and prepare. Why does it work? Maybe because he's the greatest shooter/scorer in NBA history?
We hear about his gravity creates scoring opportunities for teammates. How exactly does that work when the expectation is those opportunities can only come after he touches the ball first but that's not until late in the shot clock?
And the lament is he gets so tired running around to get those shots we have get him rest. When he rests the team struggles to score. Here's an idea. Try using his gravity earlier in the shot clock before he's run his fool head off for teammates shot opportunities. His gravity gets utilized and late in games maybe he's not exhausted from always running the entire shot clock and teammates might be empowered to scoring opportunities earlier without the fear of being yanked because your star hadn't touched the ball first. Wonder if the Warriors ever practice that?
Steph's numbers might go down but team efficiency might go up and maybe he's fresher late in games and more important come playoff time. What they currently do leaves you with a 15 man roster where Steph is the Sun, Butler and Green are major planets and the other 12 are players feel like Pluto soon to be downgraded to a "Dwarf planet".
Empowering the foot soldiers might lead to better results for the entire army. Right now a seen but not heard path has not worked for anyone.
