Why take KAT when it's a similar contract? Only a couple of years younger. Less injured, yes.
Would be a great trade. KAT has range and is a big presence on the court. Just look at his playoff performance with the knicks last year. Total beast.

Knicks have Casey Smith and probably a lot more confidence in his ability to keep AD on the floor. AD was actually pretty steady his last couple years in LA. It's only since he's been in Dallas has he reverted back to Day-to-Davis.
Idk if there's other reasons Knicks say no to the trade, but I personally don't think AD's history would be one of the main ones
AD would love to go to NY. Any other team and he'd still be followed by trade/injury jokes. At least with NY, Knicks fans (aka celebrities) will embrace him and he'll become ~cool~ again.

Doesn't Towns play? Why would NY trade a guy who plays for a guy who doesn't? If you want to trade AD for a "below market cost" that's great. NY's idea of a below market cost is a conditional second round pick in 2059. I'd jump on it before they sober up..
There is no Cost for going for it. The West is weaker then ever before in history Mavs are just simply to good to not make 10th seed. They keep. the pick make Play in ( like last season) and hope its high regardless it will be around a top 10 pick.
If Mavs have any relative success they can opt to trade AD in off season or next season and by Making or performing well in Play IN will increase his trade value.
Its kind of a straight forward simple logic that they can only get MAX value for AD if Mavs have somee success.
