Stop playing players out of position find a 1 and a 5 and we won’t have to hold our breath every game.
Webster do your job and trade for a backup center which you haven’t done yet. What more proof do you need to see that we need one. Also Darko your post game interview response was not good enough call out individual players that aren’t doing their jobs
I have been saying for some time in posts that we need a back up big for more rim protection and rebounding behind Jacob (kind of like insurance and for the 2nd unit). I like Scottie and CMB's efforts but matching them up against true Bigs too often is a recipe for injury. A trade is needed and I still favor talent that is affordable like Jalen Smith (Chi) and trading Ochai and Gradey for him. The money works and I believe the trade would as well. Jalen would be the rim protecting and rebounding big who backs up Jacob. Sandro can be more of a PF/C that continues to help drive the offense for the 2nd unit. As for the opened roster spot. A.J Lawson should be converted back to a minimum standard contract to fill the roster spot opened by trading the two SGs and calling up one.
Very bad coaching stuff. They dont know how to develop young players. Dick Walter Shead Obagi are worst then thier first year . No chemistry. No defens . Half of the games they won this season was luck.
Not enough adjustments were made tonight. For Brandon to operate you need shooters to give him space be ready and hit shots. The Knicks didn't respect our wings they kept leaving there man to help. Without a true backup big having these players play out of there real positions is always gonns be trouble. When teams get physical with us we always fold.
When we said play Battle more, we didn't mean throw him in the starting lineup all of a sudden to match him up against Mikael Bridges, their best perimeter defender available to play tonight who isn't going to give him any space to operate whatsoever and probably one of the worst mismatches you could possibly dream up with his quickness and length in Battle's first start of the season, and then instantly pull him and destroy his confidence when it obviously didn't work out. You should have matched Battle against Yabusele or Jordan Clarkson.
Meanwhile, you are simultaneously playing Scottie at Center who looked sore as all hell out of the gate after playing that overtime game yesterday without any other rebounders on the court for some reason, because you decided it was best to fatigue Poeltl against the Hornets. Meanwhile we have fresh legs Mogbo, 0 minutes outside of garbage time while we are getting destroyed on the boards against Mitchell Robinson, where your best option is to just foul him anyways.
Like, I wasn't expecting a win, this was basically a scheduled loss, but we also have an army of coaches working against the grain with these rotations. Brandon Ingram also took almost 30 jump shots yesterday trying to carry the game and looked like he had 4 hours of sleep, yet you keep going to him for some reason. This is literally the kind of stuff I would do if I was trying to lose games and tank.
