  1. So, it comes to this – what is the expectation for this season?
If the rumors are true, and the new owner has getting to be a contender ASAP , this season is really not important
because all the roster (players+ coaches + management) will be dismantled
if you want to be a contender you need to have multiple stars on your team
so, in my opinion everybody is on the trade machine – including deni (he is the most tradeable asset we have)
I dont think there will be changes this year, but next year will be an explosion 🙂

  2. First of all, I still think we need to keep our 1st round pick this year and not bestow it to Chicago. This looks like a really deep draft this year and limping into the playoffs is not worth losing it. Second, who can you get that would make a big difference without either giving up too many assets or change the dynamics of the team to the negative? Go Blazers.

  3. Get Deni shooters, idc if it’s 2 way players that are good shooters or bigger NBA names that will cost some current pieces

  4. The Cronin pattern is taking expiring money and convert it to players under team control for at least 2-3 seasons forward.
I won't be stunned if Mattise and/or Rob are gone by the trade deadline.

  5. Trade grant and next year maybe scoot, get some shooters and role players. You already have the vets. And the rooks.
    Good luck 🍀

  6. Blazers don't have draft capital to trade for someone like Kispert. They can get someone like Ben Saraf who is a promising point guard

  7. This season's goals were to see what the young players are capable of.

The roster has been completely turned over and 2 new starters this year.

I dont think they are in a big rush until they know what they have in their young core and its still very early in their development.

  8. I think we are alright, but nowhere near contention. We are moving toward the mediocre middle. Nice team spirit, refreshing to see guys get after it, but not entertaining the idea that we are anywhere near close. In this case, trading and tanking seem reasonable to me. We need a superstar. If we had one, maybe we would be as good as say Cleveland.

  9. The team always has it's eye on opportunities and will continue to do so. As to the current problem, it's not our roster, it's the health of our roster. In general, a team that plays both sides of the ball is going to use more of its players because of the increased demand. This team has that issue on steroids because of their full court D and fast play.

The team has already gotten more from less on a few occasions which is great to see, but they are not going to begin to stack wins together until they get more bodies back. This team is better when the scoring is distributed. Bringing in a scorer in the current situation will put too much pressure on that individual.

We need to tread water until our guys come back.

Finally, if things had broken just a little different, this team's record would be great. Considering how tough the schedule has been, it could be worse. This team, even as short-handed as it is, is stil in most games.

  10. Coaching is going to be key to how this team develops. They need to work on half court offense/defense, we know they can run. They need better shooting, but I don't think that can be addressed until after the season, just from listening to this show.

  11. The problem with Shea is inefficient game. DC usage going down and no one else gets in the game besides Avdija who also have to force because he take every shot possible. He is great potential. the second best on the roster. great mids great going to the rim. got better with the rebounds, need to be coached better and get the ball off Avdija or Holiday not making the decisions himself or he ends up like Kuzma

  12. after the Blazers 10 game win streak last season.. Portland became a slightly under .500 team with monster nights from Deni Avdija. How are the Blazers doing this year ?? It's exactly the same.. now we just need that 10 game win streak to give the NBA a jolt of Rip City.

  13. Dalano Banton is out there. I think he’s a lot better than Murray and Rupert for what the team needs right now. We know he can score at least. Plus now we have a currently injury prone backcourt so he could be an insurance policy.

  14. Deni is a future NBA all star. The rest of the youngest players on the roster are average AT BEST. Deni is becoming the new prime Dame. The team needs more and better talent. Otherwise this team is headed for nothing but mediocrity in the future.

  15. Unpopular opinion: let’s trade Deni. Deni’s current usage is a problem for Sharpe and Scoot because they won’t get enough development minutes this year. We can get a really good 3&D guy and let Sharpe and Scoot shine. And if we don’t believe Scoot or Sharpe will step up soon, let’s get a real star in a Deni trade while they continue to develop.

  16. We should want to miss the playoffs this year for the 1st round pick and dame for next season.. trade Rob and play Hansen

  17. I want to watch my Blazers play but I just cant stand watching OKC play anymore with how the refs officiate their games. They are a team that is a "gotta win by 20 to win by 2" sort of team. I just want Seattle to get their team back so that the NBA no longer has to justify OKC existing.

  18. Deni feels just like Dame years back when he would kick the ball out to Chief and Mo and they would brick. Kicking out to Camara, Love, Murray and Cissoko is netting you very little at this point.

  19. There are great shooters that are not complete players in the G-league, Europe, etc.
Rayan Rupert and Kris Murray are not the answer. Why not fill their spots with one or two of those shooters?

  20. Idk. 1. Interim coach. 2. Ownership shifting. 3. Injured at guard. Why make a move ? We aren’t winning anything this year. Play. Compete. Develop. We have another scorer…Sharpe. Give him time.

  21. I would have said they still need to part with Grant before the season started but he seems to be providing a spark off the bench. Holiday is providing excellent veteran leadership when healthy. Camara is a very necessary piece too and of course Avdija is their best player atm. Sharpe is showing a lot of growth. As much as part of me doesnt like to admit it… may be time to move on from Scoot while he still has some trade value. The more time goes by the more obvious it is that he is not the guy you can build a contender around. Of course, with our luck watch him blossom with his next team a la Jermaine Oneal. 😐

  22. Camara is one of the worst shooters in the league for the amount of shots he takes. When I see him catch and shoot I get mad because I KNOW it ain't going in lol

  23. This team is desperate for a true outside shooter. The only true PG is jrue which is injured, and he's 35, dame could come back after an Achilles and he's also 36. The team needs a young outside shooter. The fact that deni has to act as the facilitator right now is a problem. This team is missing some crucial pieces.
