TRADE INCOMING? Ramona Shelburne on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Future with Milwaukee Bucks
Breaking news comes out of Milwaukee this afternoon, as Giannis Antetokounmpo and his agent have started conversations with the Bucks about his future and if he should stay with the team per Shams Charania. ESPN NBA insider and Senior Writer Ramona Shelburne breaks down how likely a trade for the “Greek Freak” is, and which teams could most easily acquire him. Momo says the Lakers would have a better chance of acquiring Giannis as a free agent in the offseason, and any trade would most likely have to include Austin Reaves!
What do you think, Lakers fans? What would you give up to get Giannis?

Other teams may have assets but it's probably not up to those teams. Giannis gets to pick where he wants to go, right?
What are you talking about? Austin Reaves is not a difficult conversation in a trade for Giannis. If Giannis wants to play with Luka you trade Austin Reaves and anyone not named Luka Doncic to get him.
Name a star player that would want to play at San Antonio if not by draft? Zero.
Giannis is in control of where he goes. Y’all still haven’t realized these dudes have all the power. Bucks won’t be getting the value y’all think they will. Giannis is not choosing the Spurs he wants to win lmao. Reaves has more value than any of the teams y’all suggested. Knicks literally won’t be able to put a team around Giannis without trading off one or multiple of Brunson, OG or Mikal for Giannis but also next year because they will have to cut salary because they would be a 2nd apron team. Lakers are literally the perfect landing spot for Giannis because in the off-season Lakers can build a complete team around Luka and Giannis and if I’m the Lakers I am forcing LeBron out and trade him so he can get bought out and then he can choose whatever team he wants to go play for next and get some kind of players back for him and then in the off-season re access the roster and it’s needs around Luka and Giannis.
Wemby will become injury prone. Only a matter of time. Oh wait he is already out.
The team to watch here is definitely golden state
Okc has the draft picks. Especially the upcoming Clipper picks
Here's the problem with what Ramona is suggesting: next year is Giannis' last year under contract. Giannis will refuse to re-sign with any team he doesn't want to go to. If you trade him in the offseason, then he can say, "I will not re-sign with this team and will test FA," and my even activate his trade kicker to prevent any trade that the Bucks might want to force on him.
Meaning, Giannis has virtually all the leverage, and if he wants to leave, the Bucks should trade him now to get even a single more asset back, since the roster is doomed to begin with.
PS: While OKC is great, they can't stop Giannis. He always destroys them. So, if you are a top team in the West, this is the only way to beat them.
Heat has: ware, JJJ, jovic, herro… we have the picks if the nba clears things up with rozier
He's going to the KNICKS!!!
Okc ?😮
Lakers are fine . We need to stop turning the Ball over .😮
Don’t know if you want Gianni? What?
He wants the Knicks
Lakers fans don’t know basketball and they’re mad Kobe Bryant’s dad and LeBron James the goat is living and they actually want him dead not happening anytime soon but hey as a LeBron James fan I’m here to push it in your face until you hang it up literally😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Lakers could get Giannis
You have to give them Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura Dalton connect a first round pick and the second round pick or maybe two First down the line in the second round Pick you can get it done. The problem is like dumb Lakers fans and the organization you love your laker favorites.
NBA media's reverance for Luka probably doesn't coincide with players perception. Luka is a great offensive player who dominates the ball….when he doesn't have the ball, he stands 30 ft from the basket and watches. Doesn't cut…doesn't screen….doesn't do anything. That's not the easiest guy to play with….in addition, he's not a good defender(you're kidding yourself if you think he is)
But we're gonna find out this offseason when the Lakers have ridiculous cap space, even with re-signing AR-15….who wants to come here and be Luka's running mate
Trading AR makes the lineup Clunky. 🤢
Spurs or bust.
OKC need him
This guy keeps interrupting these two women. Ha ha. Listen these guys played the league along time.
Uhhh Orlando has draft picks? Are you lost Ramona
Warriors trade Steve Err, Backpack, Kuminga, Podz and picks
Why wouldn’t okc want him they have tons of picks to give
Hey creamcity … HOW can LeBRICK ever be the GOAT!? He STILL CANT shoot … STILL CANT shoot FTs CANT play defense STILL travels, double dribbles, carries, AND IS THE ONLY ONE with a LOSING record in the finals. M.J 6–0
KOBE 5–2
ALSO NONE of the TRUE GREATS ever CHOKED in the finals getting locked down by role players!!
Lol
Creamcity … are u sure u wanna be part of the 4–6 kingdom!??
Lol
Smh
Stop it, he is not going to the lakers
For all of you with amnesia, this is the exact conversations being had in the media 6 years ago about Kawhi and Paul George and the types of package necessary to get Playoff P. Now these same media people are bashing LAC for giving up what they did to OKC. Giannis is 30 and has been a great player but his best days have mostly been spent and you'll be forced to pay a king's ransom to have him on the back end of his career. Giannis isn't worth NOW what the Clippers paid to get PG13 yet these media buffoons are saying that's what the asking price should be. They'll be back in 3 years when Giannis is falling apart bashing whoever traded for him and what they gave up. It's not that OKC was brilliant and turned into this dynasty because they were smarter than everyone else. They just had the player on the team at the moment that Kawhi used to help extort the Clippers. It could have easily been the Pacers getting Shai and all the picks if they had held on to George for another season. The problem is there are so many terrible GMs in the NBA like Joe Dumars, Lawrence Frank, and formerly Nico. The other thing that no one wants to mention is that Giannis' game is not going to age well like Jokic's should.
