I could part with Tobi, Sass, and maybe Daniss but thats it. Even that hurts to say. Love this 2025 squad.
That's an interesting idea, the Coby trade. I'm not sure how that truly helps us, though. I trust Ivey to come back and really take over that 2/1 role. I'm not sure what they do with daniss and sass tho.
My understanding is that they'll have to make a move to free up a roster spot to sign daniss through the year, but that could be wrong. Anyone know for sure?
I'm not entirely sure what's going on with the defense. I think a big reason has been the 2nd effort on drives, especially with ausar and jd on the floor together. They defend the initial drive really well, but they don't boxout after. Ever, seemingly. Both of them go after the driver, leaving the offensive board available. Maybe it's the rest of the team, but it's been frustrating to watch, and I think we were better about it at the beginning of the streak. I remember the team's motor being CONSTANT, and I think we've dropped a bit.
I can see them upgrading at the 3, not the 2 as they don't know exactly what they hsve yet w JI.
They're one player and one year's seasoning from the championship window opening
And yeah, since Gores has referred to Trajan as "his CEO" I don't see him intervening any further.
I like bringing back Quentin Grimes. Less of a playmaker than White but better defense and still a self-creator. He's not staying in Philly after the contract dispute last summer.
Marvelous video as always, Jack. Patience is key with the young core. That's what OKC did and look where it got them. I know as fans, we're all looking for that Sheed or Mark Aguirre trade that would just get the Pistons over the hump and into title contender status, but who's to say it isn't a fully healthy JI who can do that for the team?
Glad to know the Cup aspirations for the team is still alive. I guess point differential only comes in if more than 2 teams have the same record? I hope JI plays and has a monster game against the team he last played against before the injury. I know he already went up against Cole Anthony and even scored his first bucket with the guy dodging out of the way but still, it would be a nice moment.

The Pistons have never paid the luxury tax under Gores, although he says we wouldn't mind if we were contenders. They've only been a tax team once (in '03-'04) when Mr D. owned the team.
With our team playing this well….makes me nervous the thought of potentially effecting team chemistry by making a big trade. Granted trading for the right player could improve the team, but who gets traded is what worries me. Should be interesting…..
It’s not Tobias that hurt the defense it was Ivey. It’s always been Ivey. When they inserted Ausar after his injury our defense went up to a top 6 going into the playoffs.
I still like Stew as the starter and Tobi off the bench; the defense would still be elite and Tobi would punish reserve PFs. His minutes don't need to drop if he's the 6th man either.
Edit: it could also allow Reed to get more PT, which isn't a bad thing.
What about miles bridges for jaden ivey type deal?
One interesting new factor is that now buyout players will target Detroit this year for sure.
I wanted Powell last year, I'll take him again this year, if he resign for cheaper.
I honestly love Dannis Jenkins and how he controls the floor, he ability to run the offense, make great passes, shoot the right shots and be able to create his own shots. Since we are fully healthy now his time has gone way down and I don’t think we’ve been playing as good. I think he should be our back up pg and continue to get more minutes to give himself a chance to prove himself through a larger game size.
I’m 100% fine with trading Ivey and Harris along with a couple firsts to get a proven true secondary scorer next to Cade. Everyone says that will be Ivey but I just don’t see it. I think he still plays too fast most of the time, I don’t think him and Cade have great chemistry.
We just have way too many guys that need minutes right now and I know it’s impossible to figure out the lineups and what guys get how many minutes and stuff. I’m sure JB will figure it out long term. With everyone back Green has lost a big number of minutes during the games now. I’d like to trade some guys so we can get that bonified starter and scorer next to Cade and then that would allow Dannis and Greene and even Bball Paul to get more minutes and I think that will help this team overall.
I’d love to get Colby White some how. Other names that interest me are Michael Porter Jr. or Trey Murphy.
I’m fine with Trading Ivey, Levert and Harris with picks. If we can get Lauri Markennan and don’t have to give up any guys I didn’t mention and only two firsts I’d do it all game.
Dannis can be the back up pg Schroder spot this year. I like his play better than Iveys.

Pistons don’t need to make a trade. We good, and if they trade for Mr Glass Street Clothes Anthony Davis I’ll legit never watch basket hoopses again. I don’t want that BUM anywhere near the Pistons! 🤨
