  1. I'll throw out the atomic hot take: Trade Wemby and some contracts. Dude is at peak hype right now and likely won't ever reach his potential due to health. With Giannis, you get a few seasons as a contender and won't have to give up any picks.

  2. Only way I’d be okay if Gianni’s forced a trade to SA (already prob unlikely) that would give spurs more leverage and make trade tenable for all us armchair quarterbacks. Even then maybe you give up one of blue chip guard prospects. If it gets to a likely bidding war, the cost is just so enormous and you kill all your war chest and depth for maybe a aging player who might be gone in 2027 summer

  3. Per commercial contract, HEB says No thank you. We Do NOT want a broke down Giannis, 2 yrs 3 injury too late. Send him to NYC, leave my Spurs alone

  4. Spurs have something special rn that shouldn’t be messed with. They’re winning without Wemby. Deep benches win championships.

  5. Lol Klay’s not alone in seeing Coopers potential 😂 he’s the most hyped prospect since LeBron.

Kobe was barely playing and coming off the bench.. so it’s kinda different

  6. we did not played our full roster yet and don't know what we have AND still we are 15-6 in the west 7-2 without wemby and castle with lots of games on the road… can't we just see one season what we have to see what we need to move?

For the moment, the only piece I see moving are expiring barnes contract, probably sochan at the trade dead line, ollynik and waters III plus maybe vassel (but we have to get a 3 points shooter or we are dead). There is not player in that list that will make this Giannis trade happened… + Wemby is against killing your core for 1 player. He was pretty clear about it in a french news paper

  7. Such a great podcast. Listened to this before the new Zach Lowe episode, which is crazy, but glad I did. Move this ahead of Hoop Collective.

  8. This dude on crack!!! Vessel only going to get better?? What are you watching. He's inconsistent.. that's why you trade him. Still young like he says and the contract helps

  9. If the spurs can get a lengthy 3-4 in a 3 way trade and not give up alot sure. And please people sohan is not a beast on defense like alot of homers are saying. He should be available for trade as well

  10. OKC could get Giannis, but it wouldn't be worth messing up the roster and chemistry to get him.

  11. Giannis is great, but the Spurs shouldn't empty the bank for a player who routinely threatens to leave a franchise to get what he wants for himself. That attitude runs counter to the Spurs ethos. Harper, Keldon, Castle are all a hard "NO" and no more than 3 1st round picks. Otherwise, it's "Bucks, find your lifejacket someone else."

  12. If not for the OKC being the blueprint now of success i would have love to have Giannis. But right now? No thanks…

  13. I love how the media-specially earn and other talking heads keep mentioning San Antonio, but you have all their fans in the comments on every social media page saying that they don’t want their roster to be blown up. This agenda needs to stop. If teams like the spurs say no, don’t be surprised you talking heads

  14. Dammit I thought we were done with this bs. We are not trading away all our depth for one player. Stupid franchises do that. The Spurs are better than that, they're going to follow the blueprint that actually works.

  15. More Rockets talk, Houston rockets best teams to talk about in basketball it’s like the cowboys for nba

  16. Basketball fans are so stupid.
Blockbuster trades for stars fail to pay off over and over and over.
The teams that win championships build through the draft and develop their guys. That's what works.

  17. 13:03 The all time scoring list isn't what it used to be because of the three point shot, guys are moving up while making less shots. What would be impressive is passing Kareem in All-time Field Goals made. LeBron has over 40,000 points, played the most seasons, games, minutes, most fg attemps in history and is still over 300 behind Kareem in Field-goals made.

  18. Giannis already said he wants to go to the Knicks. It's really the only team that makes sense. They could trade KAT and someone else and some picks to make it happen, without dismantling their team to do it.

  19. I'm really tired of the West having all the true titans. Shae Luka Ant Wemby Jokic…And Giannis all in the West? Make it stop.

  20. Giannis is nice, but I'd rather keep the young guys together. However, IF a deal was to be made, I'd be okay with sending Harper to the Bucks. I DO NOT send Cass or Foxy anywhere. At the end of the day, Giannis wants to go to NYC.

  21. Send Fox Vassel Kelly + 3 FR.Max. Don’t touch Castle and Harper. Rookie contracts with max potential

  22. Spurs trading for Giannis comes down to 2 questions. Would you win more titles now in a short window, or more titles spread out over the careers of Harper Castle and Wemby, I’d bet on the latter but that’s just me.

  23. I really like our Spurs team as is. If we do this trade I wouldn’t give up any of the pieces Milwaukee would prefer. Instead, I can part with lots of picks since the Spurs have plenty of extra ones they have acquired over the years and a few bench/vet pieces to make the numbers work.

No Harper, No Castle, No Vessel, No Champione, No Bryant – all off the table. Maybe a Sochan or KJ to make the numbers work with Olynk and Barnes.

Throw in picks to sweeten the deal. The Spurs have leverage. They don’t have to do this deal. Put the pressure on Milwaukee so they have to take what little the Spurs can offer. That’s how we got our starting PG from Sacramento. We waited until they got desperate and were forced into the move so we wouldn’t have to give up as much.
