They made it very clear that they were not welcoming him back to the team and hope that somebody else would pick him up. He was cut. There's a really good Daniel Li video out there showing some of the incidents between Chris and Kawhi Leonard. If you watch it you will take Chris's side in this at least.
People always say he will bring that vet experience and high basketball IQ. As a Chris Paul hater, I bet that gets to his head. He was likely overbearing and annoying to the team and coaching staff. Also what vet experience could he bring to that old ass team lol
I'd also cut him AT THE PROPER TIME. that's the point, you don't just dump any player during a damn road trip. That's the entire issue with the situation. You are allowed to waive anyone, just put some respect on these guys' name
Chris Paul shooting percentage was horrific. He announced 'retirement season' a week before getting cut. That produced this soap opera by playing the victim. "How dare LAC cut Chris Paul during his retirement tour."
CP3 should have retired either after the Suns run to the NBA finals or that full season he played with the Spurs. Problem is because he played every game he felt he still had more to give… Like you said, if you're performing it's hard to quit.
Cutting or telling him to go home is either wrong or getting him back was wrong or both.
Most of what I heard doesn’t paint CP3 in bad light. They just weren’t in a good place and in such a bad spot egos get hurt a lot easier.
Doesn’t help that he couldn’t play anywhere near his best, so making somewhat valid demands won’t flow well when he doesn’t have that leverage.
I was honestly a bit confused why everyone was standing up for chris paul so strongly. Like yes he's a vet, winner, leader HOF point guard thats all true but youre so right hes also a fucking asshole. Kind of respect the clippers for making a business decision when they have essentially no time or space for failure, they NEED to not be bottom of the west or we're all screwed. Locker room ulcers regardless of their wisdom drain wins from the team, tough.

I too wouldn't want to be held responsible for my actions.
Of course you would, you would be the most evil GM in the league 😈
I dont hate this take

GREAT TAKE! A lot of NBA fans don’t know this but Chris Paul is one of the most toxic negative people in sports. Straight up NEGATIVE person 🤮
They can't fall under 15 players, that's the only reason he wasn't cut. Clips are 6-18, they should all be mad like CP3

Cool art back there, who painted those?
I meow after I shit too, I get it.
you are gonna make some ENEMIES bro lol
I love how you cover the psychology of the NBA
Kitty
Its still downright disrespectful to cut your best franchise player during their fairwell tour

This is cool to say but they are 6-18 with a decent roster and without owning their own pick he has a right to be pissed

It doesn't help that after this all went down someone recorded basically everyone in the organization during a shoot around screaming "fuck CP"
5:56 – this is a shorten clip where they were talking about who initiated a play. Chris is literally on the right of Ty Lue in the full video.
