The Nuggets rolled into Charlotte looking to extend their road streak to ten straight wins, but the Hornets did not make it easy. Denver came out trading buckets with a Charlotte team that was hitting everything from deep, and it took a massive first quarter from Jamal Murray to keep the Nuggets afloat. Murray dropped one of the best opening quarters of his career, giving Denver a chance despite defensive lapses and second chance points piling up.

The game stayed tight through the first half until Jokic and Murray settled in during the third. Cam Johnson and Spencer Jones hit timely threes, Jokic started taking control of the playmaking and Denver finally found enough rhythm to swing the momentum. Big Val’s physicality inside and a needed boost from the bench pushed the lead into double digits, even as Charlotte kept crashing the glass to stay alive.

The fourth quarter belonged to Denver’s balance. Pickett hit a huge three, Cam kept the offense flowing, Murray returned to close and Jokic took over late with another signature all around performance including big shots from deep and clutch playmaking. The Nuggets held the Hornets off in the final minutes and secured their tenth straight win on the road.

This was not a perfect defensive night and there were stretches where Charlotte exposed gaps, but Denver leaned on their stars. Murray dominated early, Jokic dominated late and together they carried a team still missing key pieces. If this version of Murray continues, the all star conversation is going to get loud.
