What would make the Mavs' season worth it if they don't tank?
I hate tanking n losing but they hv to move on from ad.. hes not gonna help mavs win a chip. The sooner they realize that the better. Gotta put better younger players around coop

Tanking should be the only option since we won't win the ring. Doing a 40-42 makes no sense. We also get stucked with a 65M, 34 year old AD next year that is untradeable and Kyrie is also 34. So, after this disaster we only have Cooper flaag that will ask for a trade in the next 5-7 years because we will play 4 rotation players + Cooper cause we didnt tank and we didnt trade AD just for a 0.000001 % to win a ring this year
These guys are so washed since Luka left. Probably supported Nico till the end on the low. That's why I watch every podcast so I can laugh at Issac's solo pod transitions.
Isaac is promoting Mavs tanking which is annoying a lot of MFFLs. Maybe you should consider trading Isaac. 😂
What we need really is up ADs trade value and trade him when the offer is good (same with Klay).
Keep developing Coop, Ryan, Lively and Christie and keep Kyrie as the leader.
Use this season development and to bring Kyrie back from injury slowly. Then when the season is over we reassess the situation and see who we want to move and who we want to keep. Personally I would love to keep the team as it is and just trade AD, Klay, Caleb Martim, Jaden Hardy(sry)… trading actual good role players on this team like PJ, Gafford and Naji is going to be tough since they helped us so much with the finals run, but thats where much of the value is going to be.
About tanking, F the tanking. Im not here for 1.6% odds.
And to finish, release DLO. Both B.Will and Ryan are better than him, and Kyrie is just on a different universe.
If we can just be at least a middle of the pack offense once Kyrie returns and can keep up this Top 5 Defensive play we are going to be a dangerous and scary team to run into. Yes even for OKC. Y'all must forget how much of a matchup nightmare we are for OKC. We beat them 3 our of the 4 meetings last year without either Luka or Kyrie and even without them both too. The key is having at least 1 healthy Big and having PJ on the floor. They have no idea what to do with or how to stop PJ. He absolutely owns OKC. PJ is the identity and backbone and the Heart and sole of this Team… I like our chances fully Healthy against LA, DEN, or HOU. I think fully Healthy this team could knock out any of those teams. If you can climb into like the 6th or 7th seed we are in good shape. Its not like we are 10 or 12+ games out. Only 5 games out of the 7th then above 7th up to 2nd is only like 2 games apart. We are most def not out of this thing yet. Way too early to start waving the white flag. Especially the way they are starting to click and roll right now. AD at the 4 works but only if Kyrie is the Engine running the offense. Then Flagg/PJ, AD, Gaford/Lively all on the floor becomes a matchup nightmare for anybody. On both sides of the floor with all of that Length/size and 2 way ability.
The Mavericks aren't good enough to win it all and they aren't bad enough to get a top draft pick. I think a rebuild right now would take about 7 years. Three to get off the huge contracts they have and four to find complimentary players to Flagg assuming he pans out.
It’s not a binary choice. First, you aren’t giving up top draft odds, because too mjany teams are horrific. You are giving up 7th best odds for 14th best odds.
Second, you “go for it”—if that’s what you want to call it—up to the trade deadline to build up value in your assets. You then trade if you get the offers you want.
Third, if you don’t get the offers you want, you wait till the offseason. If you make it to the offseason with a healthy AD, he is MUCH more valuable.
Fourth, if AD does get hurt, then you basically tank anyway because you remove AD from the roster.
To me, this all hinges on your willingness to bet on AD health. If you think a catastrophic injury is inevitable, you trade now and try to bottom out. But if you think he could make it to the trade deadline or end of the season, you roll the dice to dramatically improve the value of your asset.
we can win as long as we believe honestly the locked on boys just get tunnel vision every now and again from having to be in the mix so much but the mavs will be amazing in about a month much less march.
I think we should tank. AD's body language seems like he doesnt want to stay once he's contract is up. You cant just be a "good enough" team in the west. Otherwise, we'll be the bulls of the west. Good enough to hover at 8-10 but not bad enough to get lottery picks.

The people in the comments complaining about Isaac being so negative and wanting to tank. This is the only year we can be bad. If we try to play it out and get to the playoffs and get bounced in the 1st or 2nd round. What did that accomplish? Nothing. But then we literally cant be a bad team for the next 4 seasons bc we dont have our draft picks. So that will turn into a disappointing season this year, followed by 3-4 bad seasons bc we have aging players, no capital, no draft picks n that will judt ultimately end up with Cooper getting traded. You "mavs fans" have no concept of how things play out over the course of several years. You are looking at next week not next year

Someone ask how would Dallas trade the good players this year to tank and then acquire the talent to compete next year ?
I understand the tanking sentiment, but it feels like there are multiple factors that are just being jumped over. 1. Were talking like we are guaranteed a top 5 pick. If this team was going to be granted a Boozer or Peterson then I would understand, but we are taking a gamble with no real way to get a top 3 pick. The Pistons are a great example of team for 3 years in a row kept getting the 5th pick and were punching the air. 2. This team is not gonna be worse than some of these teams. The Pacers, the Pels, and the Wizards are absolutely terrible. I can most likely name 3-4 teams that are just going to better at tanking then we are, that again we would have to sit a large amount of players to lose more games than some of these terrible teams. 3. The litmus test for tanking cannot be we beat the okc. If that is true every team should pack their bags and tank right now because nobody is beating okc. The fact that are minds are deadset on were not even a competitive team with okc with everyone healthy is kinda insane to say, and that adding a top 3 pick would change that next year, and the year after? The okc might have a top 3 pick to be set for years also. The only way I see this team being able to tank successfully we would need to get rid of some assets, and lots of them. The fact Issac is like this draft pick is going to make or break the mavs future without a way to answer number 1 and 2 on this list, and then we would need to build around them through trades cause we aint got no draft picks, or we could trade AD to get some. This is all to say that I get tanking, but were jumping the gun on the draft.
Tanking is for losers, do you want to build a losing culture? Never tank, even losing teams should put up a fight till the end, they’re bad cause they’re bad. We are not bad.

Tanking is perverse. It's actually a distortion of competition – in other words a fraud. It's justified that teams like Wizards and Kings have better chance. "Everyone does it" is not a justification.

Absolutely trade the old guys away to take the training wheels off Flagg already. And if we lose a lot, good, especially if it nets us Darryn Peterson. That horrible season the Pistons had helped Cade build character. SGA had two seasons with less than 25 wins after being traded to OKC. Isaac is just telling people who don't understand the concept of delayed gratification the truth. We don't need to have the absolute worst record though, the draft is rigged anyway, the main thing is just missing the playoffs
Funny thing is you can’t know if you can make the conference finals unless you actually try and again, we have no idea what this team will actually look like with Kyrie. It could be fantastic or it could be a struggle. This is why I always lean towards MJs mentality. Always push yourself to win every game.

Tanking is a losers mentality.
Just play the game like professionals should! tanking is a weak tatic not fair for anybody! "Hey cooper were going to lose on purpose " how do you feel? "WHAT! WAIT! i'm not doing that!" not saying isaac sucks just disagree.
The thing is, with tanking, you're introducing a losing culture that sometimes can take years to recover from. Best case scenario is Mavs and AD hit some good form, get our players back from injuries, and then trade AD for a lottery pick and a young player, and some change for salary matching.

Just think – these guys want to bet the entire organization's future on Flagg and so if he has a serious injury then they will be advocating tanking every year to get his replacement. It's bizarre.
Surely successful basketball can’t only mean the Western Conference finals. I like the players on this team, and I would like to see them get a chance to gel and play. The uncertainty of how it will turn out is half of the fun. Please let us end the tanking talk, and let’s play fun basketball.

Absolutely still worth it! We have an excellent talented diverse team…If we Authentically suck…then we fucking suck…if we win games we win games….I personally would like to see the squad show up and give 💯…. listen to trade offers and if its truly worth it…do it ….besides Kyrie and Cooper….Not a fan of tanking …(sucking on purpose)
