Doesn't matter.. have you not watched any OKC games this season? This year is a wash.. let's move pieces now so we have the off-season to bond and mesh instead of the first 2 months of the season.. bc nobody going thru OKC. The whole NBA is about to start busting teams up trying to figure out how to beat them boys.
You can be rest assured that the Hawks, Pistons, Raptors and the Knicks are offering little more than matching salary for AD. The Mavs need to hire a competent president of basketball operations (Dennis Lindsey? Masai Ujiri? Bob Myers?). Then, we just hope that AD's value appreciates with his good play leading up to the trade deadline.
It is quite funny how the Mavs fanbase have turned into parents destined for a divorce. Feel like all we are doing right now is arguing about the future of Cooper Flagg. You've got one parent out there like "Look, it's best to surround him with all of these future HOF players and instill a Championship drive into this kid". But the other parent is arguing, "but we should be flexible and adapt to the player Cooper is going to develop into".

Nobody is giving Davis a 4 year extension. He will get max money on a one or two year deal maybe an option on year two.

I’m honestly team play it out because I love the Mavs especially healthy I think they can make a deep run this year.
However, if the Hawks were to offer Kristaps Porzingus (30M expiring), Luke Kennard (11M expiring), Zaccharrie Risacher (13.1M this year, 2 years of Team Options after), plus that New Orlean Pelicans pick (Projected First right now), for AD (54.1M) + either Hardy, D-Lo or Naji, depending on value.
In this scenario, I’d assume we’d trade Klay and try to lose as much as possible.
We’d have the pelicans pick and our pick for the next draft, both would be presumably high lottery picks.
We’d still have Kyrie, Lively, PJ, Coop, Nembhard, Bwill, Gafford, plus 2 lottery picks, Risacher, and 41m off the books.
I have no idea if the Hawks would do this, especially adding that first. If they really want to go for it and try to win the east, that pelicans pick should be a guarantee in the trade.
I’m a bit biased but this trade seems like a win-win for both teams… The hawks might be overpaying but the chance to pair AD with Trae, Dyson and Johnson would make them instant contenders.

It makes sense for them to say we’re open to trading AD but we might also extend and keep him. If teams feel you’re desperate, the trade compensation will be less and it’s already likely to be less than a player like AD is worth
Be patient and ride it out. No need to be desperate trying to save face by trading AD who's value is very low because every team knows it would be a desperate move and take advantage of the situation. Best case scenario, AD gets traded for picks in return, worst case we trade AD and get shitty players and low draft picks and AD shines with the next team he is traded to. Let this season ride out and see how a roster of Kyrie, Christie, Flagg, AD/PJ , lively/afford/AD.
Fully healthy this team cannot win a championship. That is the reality of it. To me, it sounds like they know this and are just going to try and stockpile draft picks like OKC has done. Cheap, good first contract players are going to keep fueling OKC and Dallas sees this. They want to unload the $100 million they need to pay AD and Kyrie here soon.
