The Brooklyn – EP 31: The December Nets with Sharif Phillips-Keaton of NetsWire (USA Today Network)

The Nets might not be a “good” team but they’ve looked better after every game and even won two in a row this week. Brooklyn has found their way back to being a gritty, smart squad that might just spoil another tank…So, where does Cam Thomas, MPJ, and maybe even Giannis Antetokounmpo fit into all that? Sharif Phillips-Keaton of NetsWire (USA Today) joins the show to break it all down!

  1. Correlation does not equal causation. CT played 7.5 games before going down, and the offense has only just started flowing better. That's not nearly enough evidence to suggest his absence is a boon to the team. The team is still 5-17 (as of this post) and pretty much bottom 2 in every meaningful statistical category. Without MPJ pretty much having the season of his career, they would have even fewer wins.

The Nets still have huge holes when it comes to shot makers that CT helps fill. I have faith Jordi will figure out how to incorporate him back into the lineup in a productive manner. Whether or not he's a part of the team going forward is anyone's guess. But while he's a member of the Nets, I'm going to root for his succcess.
