I'd love to have giannis, but if we have to give up core pieces to get it done, it's not worth it for him or the franchise
It's kind of a catch-22. We need a high percentage basket at down the stretch of close games! I love Cap, but he takes really difficult shots (he makes a ton of them, but he's bound to miss some). I love KAT, but more often than not he's shooting from down the street. Giannis is completely different in that way. This would also be the first time that the Knicks had a player in the argument for best player in the league in their entire history. Having said that, I think that high percentage shot down the stretch of close games is all the team is missing and they may still be capable of winning a title. If you gut the roster to get Giannis you could become the Bucks and be completely out of contention. If you had a crystal ball and you knew the Knicks would barely come up short without Giannis, you make the trade regardless, but you don't.
Not at all because every nba fan that doesn't support the knicks and every media outlet that hates ny would do whatever they can to try breaking our focus

Our best bet is to hope Giannis doesn’t get traded to another team mid season and try to trade for him in the offseason when he will have more leverage (only 1 year left) and we will have more assets and time

This team right now plays to full potential Don’t need Giannis. We just need to play at another level and stay healthy.
