Revisionist history on MPJ. He was a no show the latter part of his tenure here.
Fact that MPJ scores a lot in Brooklyn is only because he is the only player capable doing it on that team. He was a bad fit for Denver because he didn't play defense, had a huge contract for what he brought to the table and if his shot didn't get in, it was as Nuggets played with 4 players on the court. Ball movement, which is very important in modern NBA, and especially for Nuggets offense was much worse with him on the floor. Not too mention his low IQ decisions on both ends of the floor, that often enraged his teammates. He was given a nickname Michael "possession ends here" Porter Jr for a reason.
I miss rooting for Junior. As far as how the team looks without him? We are so much better. I'm glad he's having "success" in Brooklyn but I am definitely not wishing he was back. Giannis is probably the only player the Nuggs could get for AG for and I wouldn't be enraged. AG is my boy but if we could get Giannis alongside Jok? Mortgage the farm. Even though we probably couldn't pay them both😂 idk that would really be something. He's the only 7 footer you could pair with Jok I think
bottom line…were still have the highest offensive rating and the defense will be marginally better (once AG and Braun return) ..plus we have a better bench. MPJ is BALLIN though and I love to see it! its a win win..I gotta admit I miss MPJ and Malone though ..they became part of my extended family fr
Well, I'm not a nugget so I can't say it for them. But for me I don't miss him. I like Cam. He plays defense and doesn't spend so much balls. He has some TO (hey new team). He will get better. And also, he showed in couple of games what he can do. On other hand Bruce only showed shit to me. I didn't watch a lot of games this season but what I saw I didn't like it.
How can you miss MPJ after last 2 pathetic season he had in Nuggets.
Cam's been playing well the last 8-10 games. it's not like MPJ never had similar stretches 20+ points one night 7 points the next.
CJ keeps the ball moving and can cover guards and wings.
the +/- look great and only at 1.7 TOs.
Guy is getting settled and it's only going to get better. excited to see where he's at by February onwards.

It’s so clear as day MPJ is better than Cam J. It’s not even close. Nuggets are 5th seed despite Joker and Mal on absolute insane efficiency. Cams defense is not even better than MPJ he is a cone. He doesn’t do much apart from sit in the corner on attack. Nuggets have 30th ranked defense the last 2 weeks with a vastly improved bench that doesn’t leak points. Don’t bring up injuries AG missed half of last season lol. Nuggets are doomed this year. Shai doesn’t have no Cam J as a 3rd wheel. They have killers. Cam J isn’t good enough to tie MPJs laces.

Honestly would rather have Giannis be on the east. West is too stacked already. Giannis on Boston would be a good move for Celtics. Trade away Jb or Tatum to get him. They got a whole bunch of shooters around and Giannis can just go in and create trouble inside. No lakers please!
Its not about if Nuggets are missing Michael Porter jr, its about how much are they missing him. Murray isn't gonna be shooting 10/11 for 3pts every night. And Adelman is doing a similar mistake coach Malone was doing when AG is injured. Playing without a power forward, the lineups when its Jokic and 4, but those 4 players are Watson, Murray, Cam Johnson and Spencer Jones (with Brown, Hardaway rotating in and out). That lineup maybe looks good on paper or in some stats machine or index, but eye test for defense is that it is extremely easy to exploit by any competent playmaker and shooter. Getting dumpstered by Ryan Nembhard, Devin Vassell (without Wemby), Westbrook and Ayo Dosunmu respectively for their teams in the last losses…
And a bonus thing for some that imagine its on Jokic's defense. 80+ % of those situations when that 4 players group get blown by, or stuck on screens, or outplayed would end the same way even if prime Dikembe Mutombo was guarding the drop coverage or rim. 10% are Watsons blocks and whatever, and 10% is where Gobert would give up and1 trying to block or jump into the player or something dumb like that.
MPJ never once showed any signs of incompetence since his start in Denver. He simply wasn't a good defender and didn't perform well in the postseason. His time in Denver wasn't in vain, and while it's unfortunate to have to let him go, he's a player I'd always welcome back. It's the front office's fault for giving him a max rookie contract, but I will always root for MPJ.
It should say swipe and gripe on top of the list.
No, hell no. Cam is just a better player. Getting off that bloat contract of Porters was a grand slam.

MPJ leaving didn't make Denver overpay CB nor did it cause another leg issue for Gordon (which is starting to feel chronic) nor did it make Jokic just disappear offensively for stretches of games. Im happy gor MPJ but Denvers problems have been and continue to be self inflicted. Bad contracts Mal, Zeke and CB …. injuries or depth and Jokic ok with being aside piece.
I miss seeing a guy play no defense and just wait in tbe corner for a 3 pointer!!! . Now he drives to the basketball. Hope he enjoys 6 straight losing seasons!!
