Seen a lot of Gafford hate but the eye test and data doesnt lie. Gafford is the better scorer. Has many moves to get his own bucket from the post to under the rim. Defends the rim at an elite level (was #1 through January last year). Lively clears him in passing and perimeter defense. But scoring, finishing edge to Gaff. Equivalent if not better rim defender. Assists at an OK rate. Can take over games. We have seen it.

Given how bad some teams are, we won’t get a pick in the Top 10. And so I don’t see enough help coming in through the draft. Thus I don’t feel trading AD for future picks without a corner stone player is good enough
We must extend Lively. Too much potential and we dont have many ways of adding talent for a couple of years for lack of picks
You hate on Davis lively is way worse and he plays worse
No way they go with a 6'9" guy (koa peat, cam boozer) as your center. At that point why not just use cooper as a center. This is not a good center draft. If lively stays injured finding a replacement level center in free agency is doable.

Bigs like Lively dont come easy. I say we give him one more season, Lively has some things Gafford dont have like better shot blocker. Better shot creation and playmaker around the basket. Sounds like the Mavs need to seek a new training medical staff cause guys are not staying healthy
Love Lively but he fit with Luka, not this roster. And gafford makes too much going forward to play only 18 min off bench. Too bad they couldn't get Holiday
Time to draft one of the bigs in the draft Lively cant stay healthy. Jayden Quatince or The kid out of Houston . This draft is full of 3 and D guys but no clear cut big man except those 2 guys
Why are we constantly talking about next season.. the Mavs are close to being healthy.. this team is built for the playoffs and can matchup against anybody… Be positive. Start covering this current team and not 3 years down the road. A mixture of these stars, good role players, and young guns is a recipe for success.
Building around cooper is a mistake. They should be building around this team's current roster. Let Flagg grow around this team instead. He's getting to play with 3 HOFamers. Invaluable.

Off topic: just watch post game analysis with James Worthy and company for the Lakers and they are letting Luka have it in the comment section. No defense, dribbling the air out the ball, and worst of all is complaining to the refs constantly! I know you guys love Luka, but to me Luka is nothing more than a white version of James Harden. Great offensive numbers, but means nothing at crunch time. Lakers are not winning a title this year unless they make a MASSIVE trade but more than likely will gut their bench in doing so so still don't know if that will help.

Can we all stop using the word Tank ? Partially so I don’t have to see comments from all the people freaking out about it. Many of them actually think we want the players to throw games. It’s insane but I swear they believe it. We can’t drop to the bottom anyway, best case without AD and Klay and maybe one or two more vets we might drop to something like the 7th or &th best lottery odds.
Gafford is better than lively. I think if we trade gafford we will end up regretting it. Lively has already missed 50% of his career. Get out of it while you can.
