They have to seriously consider if AR is worth the 40-50M he will probably command now, him and Luka are just too unnathletic and poor defensively as a back court to win rings. They are a bit redundant in their skills on offense too. Can't trade LeBron unless he agrees, but moving him to the Knicks would be a great move to get back 3D wings like Anunoby and Hart, and LeBron would be a huge help to the Knicks who need a secondary scorer and elite playmaking to help Brunson. Knicks would probably be the favorite in the East w LeBron, Brunson just has to do way too much of the offense and is getting exhausted and beat up. Plus would be a great story, LeBron coming to try and help the largest market win a ring that they have been starving for for 50+ years, coach Brown is there and they work well together. Seems like a no brainer for both sides.
But since LeBron has a no trade clause, they should probably get some 3D wings and shooting for AR, his trade value will never be higher than now. They need to build around Luka properly and AR just is not the optimal fit next to him without some really good wings. They could also use another tough big, not sure if Ayton and Hayes will be enough in the West. As constructed, the Lakers wont beat OKC, Denver, Houston, Spurs, or even Minnesota. Those teams are just too big, fast and athletic for them.
The lakers and dodgers comparison makes zero sense. In baseball you can build a great team with alot of money that’s not the case in basketball: there’s a salary cap and big talents don’t hit free agency anymore anyway.

Lebron got a no trade clause empty calories story
Trade everyone for Giannis, Jokic and Naji Marshall and put a bunch of 3 & D players around them

Luka id a horrible defender same with reaves
Lebron was by far the best defender on the team last year in the playoffs. On his worse day hes still a better defender than Luka AR Rui.
