I liked Bassey in his first go-round with the Sixers but he plays less than Joel Embiid. I’m not mad at the g-league trade tho
I love this move!
I have been wanting Bassey back for the past 2 years for extra Center depth.
Yes Bassey has some past injury issues but hopefully Bassey can stay healthy.
I know the priorities are to eventually sign Barlow to the roster & also eventually sign Walker to the roster.
Then if Bassey plays well in Deleware & then if there is an open roster spot then maybe the Sixers can get Bassey on the roster later this year or next year.
Who knows because the trade deadline is coming up but not sure if the sixers would be involved in the trade deadline or not.
2 other G League players I am keeping an eye on
1. MarJan Beauchamp if he stays healthy & plays well in Deleware then get him on a 2way bc Sixers need extra Wing depth with the injuries & Edwards has been up & down
2. Delano Banton as a Point Wing Version of Watford as Watford is like a Point Forward Type but Banton can't be a 2way contract guy but maybe extra Point Guard Wing depth later this year or most likely next year
– Banton has been balling out with the Texas Legends & shooting very well as shooting was his main weakness
– Lowry will be gone next year so maybe Banton could be a good vet minimum contract for next year as a 6'8 or 6'9 Point Wing Player who can play 1 through 3 for depth as long as Banton continues to shoot well & Banton played for Nurse before
Bruh Morey let him go for nothing, AND one of the best 3pt % shooters in the NBA in Isaiah Joe. The fact that he had to trade for him shows how incompetent he is
I truly was thinking of bringing Bassey back in some capacity when I read that he was not in the any longer. I remember him working out with Joel Embiid at St.Joseph's Philly a couple of years ago. I thought he had a better trajectory than Mo Bamba.
