I have been saying this for a month, Tyson starts, Hunter back to 6th man. They need the offense off the bench, and they need Tyson starting because he is a much better wing defender and rebounder.
He was playing so well during the preseason, knocking shots down at very high efficiency and I thought he was going to be the one to step up for the Cavs but then he got that knee contusion and when the finally got healthy, he struggled. I’m not saying the knee is affecting him because he should be fully healthy but he was looking so good during pre-season. Then again, it’s just pre-season.

He looks a lot tougher than he plays.
He is playing like the Hunter Atlanta was viewing as a bust. He has always been trash. They ended up moving him to the bench last year and had a good season and the Cavs did Atlanta a favor. Either that or maybe the Jerome move has him feeling some type of way
This coach needs to get him the ball IN THE MID POST. I do not understand why this coach refuses to use his bigs in the post, ever. Cavs never attack matchup advantages when bigs have them. Hunter went into the post one time against Hornets, it netted 2 of the easiest points he's had all season. This is much easier than shooting 3's or driving for him, and he can easily kick out when doubled. GET HIM THE BALL IN THE POST!
As much as I liked Hunter this season before this recent stretch I believe Tyson needs to start. Tyson is great off ball, a better perimeter defender, a better secondary playmaker and an insanely good rebounder. Hunter as a sixth man for this group makes more sense.
Atkinson is failing this team with his lack of willingness to adjust to his team. Cavs are a bottom tier 3 point shooting team. Accept it. Get to the paint. Cavs have 3 skilled bigs in Hunter, Allen and Mobley. USE YOUR BIGS IN THE POST! It's an automatic paint touch, bigs can easily skip passes out to open shooters when doubled. AND, if big misses a shot, big is right there for the offensive rebound… Kenny doesn't play to his advantages anymore. It's getting weird.
Shoulda kept Levert. The Cavs had a better record with him than Hunter. I love Hunter tho, rlly wish he was playing better

KENNY isn’t going to do a gahdamn thing😂. Dude is as arrogant as Stefanski keeping Gabriel at QB earlier in the season regardless how bad he played for the BROWNS. Atkinson’s level of entitlement has him thinking he’s STEVE KERR in his own mind 😂😂😂. Koby Altman isn’t impervious to this job performance ass whooping as well. Buddy thinks because he looks like BRYANT GUMBEL and flashes those pearly whites that he can keep trotting out the OVERPAID “CORE FOUR” and operate with absolute impunity. Somebody go splash some water on Dan Gilbert and get Koby’s ass up and outta here too 👀🐸☕️

The only problem I see with Hunter is defense. I think his offense is a little off because he’s trying to improve in that area. But he’s a good player worthy of being in the starting lineup.
Mack, now you finally coming around to criticizing this team after we told you this for 2 years. But now you are being too scared to make changes that will transform this team. Putting Tyson as a starter WILL MAKE THE CAVS A LOSER. You would then be making a small, undersized line up EVEN SMALLER when we play all these STRETCH TEAMS.
You are being like these goofy causal fans out here with these backward, non aggressive line ups. Putting Hunter on the bench to play second team, without the benefit of a Ty Jerome level player spells the doom of the Cavs. MACK, you are making moves that suck and wont win you sh*t unless you make some hard trades. This might be a down year for the Cavs. I can't believe that they're ABOVE .500 at this point. The thing is that there isn't just ONE big reason they're this bad, its lots of little things that add up to these results. And the bad part is that there isn't really a trade out there that would make them significantly better this season. They'd have to give up too much just to get someone like Giannis or AD.
Maybe they'll do better next season. I'm mentally checking out from this team.
